Just got mine. The director version is very informative. Did you know that slug-like Roz drives a souped up racing car? I can hardly wait for the time to see the other one...the outakes, I understand, are hilarious.

Only thing wrong is that Roz shows up as a running joke in too many spots. The humor wears off quickly for me. My favorite was Randall posing before the painting "I look good in a suit".

The funniest Roz moment is probably when Sullivan is saying, 'look, there's nothing in the closet, no monsters in there' and then there's Roz. It's funny just because it's ironic. Yeah, there should've been more Randall outtakes! But, then again, I guess they couldn't risk making people like him and laugh with him. They'd rather we just continue hating him as a villain through and through, and lots of outtakes with him in would ruin that.

I rewatched theOuttakes, and I think I know why the Roz scenes don't work for me. They are trying to use the Rule of Three but, like the character in "Two Stupid Dogs" says "Awww...ain't that cute. BUT IT'S WRONG!" The rule goes like this: #1 sets up a situation #2 turns it into an expectation #3 BREAKS the expectation. So Roz shows up in the decontamination booth. OK. Then she shows up in the lavatory stall. Right. But the monster in the closet should have been another one...the one with all the eyes, the purple furball with the tentacles, whatever. Not Randalll, he is Boo's scare monster, so that would not work. Probably not Mike, he is too widely featured for this in the movie. But one of the "minor" scarers.

Yeah, it's funny that the scene in Monsters, Inc mirrored the scene in Armageddon, right down to Randall occupying the same spot as the Rockhound character Steve played in the latter movie. What's really interesting-and you have to understand that I'm a big fan of "Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, and my favorite character is "Wilt"-is that in an episode of Foster's, entitled "The Big LeBlooski", there is a parody of that exact entry scene from Armageddon/Monsters, Inc., and my favorite character in that series occupies the exact same spot as Rockhound and Randall in their respective movies! pitbulllady

*laughing* i love that one. i haven't seen that movie in a really really really long time. i was going to buy it, but i never got to doing it. the only Pixar movies i own are Monster's Inc and The Incredibles (my 2 favorites). i used to have Toy Story on VHS, but my mom sold it i was going to buy them with my Christmas money last year, but i, um, forgot. ;D but i still have money from my job (i was *cough* let go recently) so i think i'll pick them up some time.
