Pre-Laugh Floor time, Human World would have at least one cultural difference to our world...everybody would, as a Rite of Passage out of toddlerhood, have the experience of conquering their fear of what is literally the scariest thing possible for them. Laugh Floor time, they would have to experience a totally nonhuman friendly person...and at a time when their memories should be clearer, since it takes more maturity to laugh at a joke than to just scream at a bizarre creature. This might tend to reduce or even eliminate racism. Later, as they grew up, it would be possible for the Monster and Human worlds to interact, since there would be no automatic cutoff for interaction and each side would know the other is friendly. Perhaps there would be exchange of technology...as was pointed out in my Science of Monster World thread, different fields of technology lag on each World, depending on emphasis. Any other observations?

... Once again very well thought through...
True, but I don't think peace will automatically come to the two worlds if they ever did interact... Some kids that possibly remember the terror evoked by the 'scaring' monsters could still hold a bit of a grudge, no?
And I think greed, from both monsters and humans, could take its toll... Doesn’t ‘another world for the taking’ sound a bit too enticing?
Interaction would most likely prompt the destruction of the peace before it would have time to settle, resulting in hate… then monsters would feel more inclined to scare humans… It’s like a bloody cycle! Blah!

Anyway, didn't the two worlds originally split due to the humans discriminating against the Mons? So there's a possibility that some Mons probably still held a grudge against Man that Scaring satisfied, and now laughter is extracted instead of screams, the unhappy Mons may try to be cruel to Man in a different way.

Humans and Mons will never live together. Sad thought, but that's what it is. Sure. Some are acceptible...
"Heh"
But in terms off mass...it's something that won't come.

Hmmm, I tend to disagree with that on several levels.

Not necessarily. As I said it all depends on the person's conditioning. Not EVERYONE is xenophobic after all. There ARE those interested in advancement rather than being frightened.

I don't think you can say that with 100% certainty though. We're becoming far more liberal in our views these days.

Yeah and that was 2001, still back in our conservative days. And besides....heheh, law stipulates we have the right to defend our homes, what ELSE was that woman supposed to think when someone like you just showed up?
