Exactly- it seems that the Monster World is suited for most monsters, but not all. I guess it must be pretty difficult for them all to have to adapt to every kind of monster, but if their civilisation was very developed, then adaptions would've been made.

But it's not to the extremes of the Monster World. They have every kind of obsticle imaginable- some monsters breathe fire, the sizes and weight of each Mon varies, anything can change between one Mon and the next.

In actuallity, Monstropolis is a main city in the Monster World.
However there ARE towns and such who's preferrance is to a "kind" of Monster. I mean it's not like someone like Ted can have a normal day in Monstropolis.

Addendum: Number of ways a monster could sneeze fire. Best would probably be to exhale a gas like hydrogen or methane while generating an electric spark through an organ similar to that of an electric eel's. The effect is obviously involuntary, or the monster would not have consumed his newspaper. Might make for interesting social situations...

Another way a monster, particularly dragon, breaths fire is the use of flint in a sack under the mouth. Combined with another material it makes a spark.

Well that's similiar as well. It can be either two solid objects like flint and reactive object that creates a spark, or as you said, two chemicals that combine to make a chemical reaction.

A dragon may have been banished to the Human World once. Hydrogen would make its weight less, so it could fly easier, and would be a good flame gas.
