Your darn right somethings wrong!!
....Sorry......
Err... Luckily...
So far I have firm belief that the Dragon discovery is fake.
The Animal Planet is actually making a show of Dragons similar to Walking with Dinosaurs. It is based on a discovery in about 1600th century when, I think Vikings (don't quote, SOMEONE found them), found bones in the mountains, thought to be dragon. Firm belief in dragons in that area led to that thought.
Futher study led to a Mammoth Bone discovery, not a dragon. I think this "show" is based on that, because so far I've not found hard evidence or images of of this so-called Dragon discovery.
Hmph....scientists.....fools in thinking.....

Ah. Well, I'm going to watch it before I pass a judgment of my own. Should be interesting, even if it isn't the real deal... Here's what the site says, anyways: "Dragons have appeared in the myths and legends of almost every world culture since the dawn of time. In Babylonian legend, the slaying of an evil dragon spurred the creation of man. Stories of dragon-slaying knights abound in medieval mythology, while dragons remain powerful fixtures in Chinese text and culture. With all these accounts of dragons, can we dismiss their actual existence? If they were real, would they have flown and breathed fire? How? DRAGONS: A Fantasy Made Real, a two-hour Animal Planet special, premiering Sunday, March 20, at 8 p.m. ET, imagines dragons as real animals and supposes that all the human myths and legends about dragons recall a time when people really did encounter these fantastic beasts. Using stunning computer-generated imagery from the same graphics company that made creatures for the Discovery Channel's Walking With Dinosaurs, Walking With Prehistoric Beasts and the Harry Potter movies, Dragons offers viewers a look at these creatures from the inside out. The show imagines how dragons would have evolved into a number of different species through the ages and around the globe, and how each dragon species was endowed with physical adaptations and behaviors specialized for its environment. It even features in vivo shots of their internal workings to show how dragons could fly and breathe fire! In our story, dragons mate, parent, protect their territory and struggle to survive human encroachment, just as animals have done throughout history. DRAGONS: A Fantasy Made Real uses real biological science to create convincing creatures, and tells the story of one of humankind's oldest legends in a way that's never been done before!"

However, "Walking with Dinosaurs" and the shows like that were based on alot of facts. *shrugs* I was simply stating what the commercial said, anyhow. It seems they've only shown that particular commercial once.

(either that, or my brother is pulling my leg - he told me about the commercial)

The Carpathian Mountains are in Romania, and are part of the Alpine mountain range, so they're very cold. I think this is part of the Animal Planet special "documentary", but I sorta doubt the truthfulness of this "discovery". STILL, as we have discussed on the old board many times, the world-wide belief in sentient, reptilian-type beings(notice I'm not calling them "animals")is so widespread, and so consistent, it DOES make you wonder. Nearly very culture, from the Native Americans, to the Greeks, to the Celts, and of course, the Japanese and Chinese, believed in intelligent reptilian beings who has their own culture. Some were benevolent, some NOT so...just like their human counterparts. With so many people, from so many very diverse cultures and different parts of the world, believing in the same thing, you have to wonder if they were all just imagining things, don't you? Mostly, though, these reptilian beings were not thought of as "evil" until after the rise of the Holy Roman Empire and the Dark Ages, when ALL scaly creatures became associated with Satan and witchcraft, sadly.

Think about the DANGER here people. Does anyone see this?
IF a dragon has seriously been found, then this opens up the entire Monster World to Humanity. To me, that is not good at all.
I have proposed questions for this....anybody want to discuss them?

Think about the DANGER here people. Does anyone see this? IF a dragon has seriously been found, then this opens up the entire Monster World to Humanity. To me, that is not good at all. I have proposed questions for this....anybody want to discuss them? I saw the commerical again and it turns out my brother wasn't just kidding me. They actually showed shots of an eye and head partially sticking out of the ice and snow (and this wasn't computer animation, I can tell between real and CG in a millisecond), they also showed the claws. This was all in a cave along the side of one of the mountains in Romania. The intro kinda went like this, "High in the Carpathian Mountains in Romania. . .Scientists have discovered something amazing. . ." then they show these clips of actual footage. I'm not saying that commercial is proof - just saying that they claimed that they actually found something. But it seems they're trying to keep it mostly a secret what exactly "Dragons" is about until it's aired. My brother and I watch Animal Planet alot and they've only shown this commercial twice since they first announced it, so maybe only really loyal viewers catch it. But, in any case, I'm going to see the show for myself and get the details, before I make any firm conclusions about this. The idea that they've found real dragons is a pretty unbelievable thing, unless they show solid proof.

I'd never thought I'd live to see the fall of humanity....

Hmph.....days are numbered.....days....are numbered....great.....
First the dragon.....then D.N.A.....then perhaps ressurection......war.......hunts for anyone with Rh-negative......
They can't have found one....

Well, supposidly there are ancient texts and stuff that proves the existence of dragons, but I guess the only thing that has really gone against this idea is the fact that, as far as we now, in the modern world no dragon has been properly photographed, recorded, etc. ;D I've got a friend who LOVES dragons, and is completely convinced that they're real, but I don't find anything wrong with believing in something that most people think is mythical. ;D

Cool..... Dragons ARE real. You may not believe at first but I....well....
Anyway.
If there truely is one found in the Carpathian Mountains.......... Would YOU want scientists taking it? Awakening something they shouldn't.
If they found one. They shouldn't go any more deeper than they already have.....

First, about the cover: Say...that's also the artwork they used for the German M.I. movie poster that I saw at Pixar,! And, yeah, I agree with the rest of you guys -- this would've made a better cover for the DVD and VHS slipcases. Now, about the dragons: I want to try to reserve judgment until I see this show for myself. But, honestly...I think the "claim" they made in the commercial is probably bogus. What I mean is that the discovery of the dragon itself -- while it was made to LOOK like it'd really happened -- is probably just part of the whole "Fantasy made reality" premise of the show. Besides, I'm pretty sure a discovery like this -- if it were legit -- would've made headline news across the globe, instead of just on some TV special. Nonetheless, the idea of dragons having actually existed DEFINITELY intrigues me. I mean, after all, it's hard to believe that so many cultures around the world who've seen (at least basically) the same thing at some point or another are all wrong, right? ~Light Rises
