Take a look at the red monster in the screen cap below, from that scene where Mike has taken the OK's on a "field trip"(aka "breaking and entering"-thanks, Mike for teaching the kiddies how to use a bolt cutter to go through a security fence)to Monsters, Inc., and they're looking down through a window onto the Scare Floor below.
Does anyone recall if this particular monster was specifically ID'd by name, by Mike or Sulley, as was Earl "The Terror" Thompson and some others? I honestly can't recall hearing this one ID'd. The reason I ask is because this monster bears more than a passing resemblance, in my opinion, to Johnny Worthington III. Same basic body shape, just shorter and squattier, exact same feet, same gait, same type hands and fingers, thick bushy eyebrows(actually obscures the eyes, lol), sharp teeth, large prominent horns(even though they're of a different "style" from Johnny's), a thick, tapering tail with those scutes sticking up from the top surface, even exits the door sideways, exactly as we see Johnny do in the Scare Games competition. In an "interview" with Johnny in the "student newspaper" on the official MU website, it stated that both of Johnny's parents worked at MI during the time that he was in college, though his father, "John-John"(redneck nickname alert) held an executive position, of "Senior VP of Monster Resources and Training", basically that he was one of the top brass in the Personnel Dept. Johnny's mother, Shirley, though, was one of their top Scarers, so could this be her?
On an interesting side note, the interview also stated that Johnny planned to work at Monsters, Inc. following graduation, but those plans apparently fell through, since we know from his Scare Card that he ended up at Fear Co. Both the "Art of MU" book and Nathan Fillion have strongly hinted that John-John and his son had some issues between them, and I'm guessing that led to Johnny's decision not to work at MI, after all, or maybe he just felt that everyone would claim that he'd gotten that job just because his parents worked for that company...or Johnny had sense enough to realize that old man Waternoose couldn't be trusted and could see through that guy's ruse. Anyway, let me know what y'all think, if this Scarer was identified or not.
