I'm definitely looking forward to the DVD release...I'll probably end up going through it with a fine-toothed comb to see if there's anything Randall-related I missed!
Even though it was pretty much Mike's movie, Pixar seemed to pack in quite a few subtle details in Randall's few appearances, like how he was the only one in the crowd NOT laughing after Johnny made a nasty joke at OK's expense during the Cute-ma Kappa merchandise scene. I hope that attention to detail could be a sign that they have something planned for him in the future.

That's what we've ALL been hoping, and believe me, we've talked about that already, too. Randall NEVER laughs whenever Johnny or Chet says something disparaging against the OK's, and in fact, many of us have commented that he never really seems happy at all. There's ONE time-right before that scene you mentioned specifically-that Randall has a little smug smirk on his face when he's standing next to Chip, but as soon as Mike starts confronting Johnny, Randall's smirk vanishes and he starts looking much less certain of himself. In that scene where Johnny tells Mike, "after you lose, no one will remember you" and Mike counters with, "maybe. But if YOU lose, no one will let you FORGET", Randall looks absolutely miserable. He doesn't crack even a slight semblance of a smile there, and in fact, at one point, he starts blinking his eyes very rapidly the way people do when they're trying to fight back tears, all the while avoiding eye contact with everyone, only briefly glancing up at Johnny or Chet, but refusing to look directly at Mike at all. He never joins in on rubbing the prank in the OK's faces like the others do, and honestly I do believe he regretted it, but was in no position to speak up. I know most of us have done something to someone else, that seemed funny at the time to US, only to realize that the other person was really hurt by it or bothered by it, and that took away whatever amusement we'd felt earlier, but unfortunately for Randall, he really had to keep that to himself. There would have been hell to pay if he'd let on to his ROR "brothers" that he disagreed with Johnny's plans. It would have been very easy for Dan Scanlon to simply show Randall acting like a real douche, jeering and mocking the OK's as Johnny and Chet do, but there had to have been a reason for showing him looking so unhappy and unsure of himself in those scenes, like he KNEW he'd made a mistake, but had no idea how to fix it or get himself out of this mess. pitbulllady
