A television series, like Disney often spins off from their films? A MI sequel? Figurines, perhaps made with 3D printing (additive manufacturing)? Something else?

A television series, like Disney often spins off from their films? A MI sequel? Figurines, perhaps made with 3D printing (additive manufacturing)? Something else? At this point, no one has said, only to state that they DO have more plans in mind for the franchise, and I'm betting that they're waiting to see how well MU performs at the box office(seems really good so far, btw) and how well the DVD sales go of MU before they really commit to anything in particular. I really hope it's not a Disney Channel tv series, though, because most of those tend to be watered down and aimed totally at really young kids, with poor quality animation and of course, completely different voice actors. Being aimed at young kids means putting everyone into a set category of "good guys" and "bad guys", too. The "Lilo and Stitch" series is the only one that really didn't follow that formula, but one out of how many? Does not make for good odds. pitbulllady

I actually talked about this over at PP...
Obviously a sequel is required, as I've said. I've been working on my own...and Sullivan and Wazowski's stories in it are simple enough, Randall's the only hard one. But the sequel is needed for him personally to fix things. It can't be a clip or a short, that would just be too cheap for something so deep. I know Pixar is good at putting depth in a few seconds (as we see with Randall), but he NEEDS a full film, they all do, to come full circle.

I'd like to see how Laughing becomes a thing. I mean, their whole culture is based on scariness. It's quite the 180 on their thinking

I've actually heard some people on Tumblr mention that there IS a sequel planned for 2017? Can someone please tell me where this is confirmed? Well, it is confirmed that there will be A sequel. Sadly, at this point, we don't even know what movie's sequel it might be. It could be anything from Toy Story to Bug's Life

I hope they don't make another Toy Story. It's already had enough sequels and I don't know what else they can add. A Bug's Life...Maybe they can have a sequel for it... But like Toy Story I don't know what else they can do to it . Like seriously? Are they gonna make Flik King of the Ants or something? :-\ If not a Monster's sequel then for the love of God! PLEASE let it be an Incredible's sequel! I mean we've been waiting for AGES darn it! >:-P I agree to the fullest extent possible.

The 2017 sequel probably ISN'T TS4, as it was confirmed back in Feb. of this year that Disney-Pixar is NOT working on another TS movie at this time, and for one to be ready for release in 2017, it would already have to at least be in pre-production. Read more here on that: www.buzzfeed.com/adambvary/4-reasons-why-the-toy-story-4-rumor-is-just-sillyAs for The Incredibles 2, as much as I myself want that to happen, Pixar has really put that ball in Brad Bird's court, since that's basically HIS "baby", and here's what Brad Bird had to say on that matter back in May 2013: www.denofgeek.us/movies/the-incredibles-2/117446/brad-bird-on-the-incredibles-2 . While he is working on ideas for the sequel, he hasn't come up with anything that he's happy with just yet in terms of story, which means that this one's not even in pre-production, either, so that means no Incredibles 2 for 2017. That leaves A Bug's Life, Monsters, Inc., Up...or HEAVENS FORBID- Cars 3-as a 2017 sequel! Pixar has NOT confirmed anything regarding ABL, though, nor Up, insofar as sequels go, but Brave director Mark Andrews DID state in an interview that he was considering a sequel to that movie: thedisneyblog.com/2013/04/11/director-of-pixars-brave-speaks-about-potential-sequel/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheDisneyBlog+%28The+Disney+Blog%29 . HOWEVER, once again, there's nothing actually in the works as of this time, which again rules that sequel out as the one in 2017. The ONLY Pixar movie absolutely confirmed to have a sequel coming out is Finding Nemo, and it's already been titled Finding Dory, of course. Here, though, is an excerpt quoted from Michael Kuentz's Tumblr blog following an interview with Dan Scanlon: " I wasn’t a hug fan of “Monsters Inc” but I really enjoyed this latest incarnation of the franchise (which – spoiler alert – is #2 in a long line of proposed “Monsters” films). When the movie is released I intend to take my 3-year old and 7-year old to see the IMAX 3D version.". Now, whether or not we'll see a THIRD Monster film from Pixar in 2017, I don't know, but at some point it seems certain that we WILL see one, and since Pixar already has more movies planned in this franchise, why not one for 2017? Pixar folks won't confirm anything on a film unless they've already got something in the works. If it's not already in development, they just give that vague response, "if we can come up with a good story we'll consider making a sequel", but since Scanlon himself confirmed that there ARE other "Monsters" movies planned, that one seems to be the most plausible for 2017 out of all of Pixar's franchises. pitbulllady

Thanks for clarifying, PBL. Yeah, a Monster movie would seem the most logical. Let's hope for one with more (positive) Randall in it.

I think a sequel would be great - Pixar does have such quality standards when it comes to their films and it'd be nice to see what they decide to with it. As long as Randall is in it too. <3
