Did he say it on here, or would that count as a movie spoiler?

Did he say it on here, or would that count as a movie spoiler? Oh, he didn't say it on here, but half the stuff I read on here seemed pretty spoiler worthy sooo, yeah. I still think it sucks that we may never know what happened to Randall after MI. As much as I love your idea RB, I seriously doubt there will ever be a sequel. But then again, if there were that would be awesome.

Well I was aware, I'm just careful not to spoil things.
*rubs temple* What's better...moping there will never be, or hoping there will be? Pixar has my respect...but sequel-wise, they have the materials. Maybe they're not aware of it, but at the least, I am.

Strange. It is like if Pixar wanted people to remember the sweet & cute Randy. But why? I feel there is something more to Pixar's change of his picture. They definitely have something up their sleeve. I just don't know what… A trilogy idea definitely does make sense. Heck, It could transform a franchise into a story of epic proportions. And furthermore: MONEY… It would be foolish not to expect Disney to want to make another part of the franchise, especially if MU is a success.
I mean, think about it: They had been preparing a sequel when they suddenly made the decision to do a prequel instead. What if they wanted to make Randall the mcguffin of the sequel, only to realize that people might not care? So they made a prequel first, where they portray him as a likeable character. The sequel's story can now focus on Randall without the audience asking "Why should we care about the bad guy?" Everyone would be happy. The story would make sense and Disney would get its sequel.
Wishful thinking? Maybe, but... MONEY.

I see why PBL refers to you hm hm.
Indeed. Sometimes to go forward, you have to go back. I mean if they made a sequel and made all these past references, what do you have? Lines, that's it. But NOW, you SEE that past and KNOW what's being referred to. Randall was a good person. He still is. And that can NEVER be taken away from him.
Exactly. Goes along with our previous talks that the first one followed Sullivan, this one follows Wazowski, the next...Randall. Blue, green, purple. Three. Trilogy. It makes so much sense it's like a crime against nature not to finish things. And NOW...now people are going to care. It's kind of sad too considering.....erm....well anyway umm...yes, as said, there will be plenty of people who see MU, then MI and wonder either "what the heck happened?" or "Did they seriously DO that?". While many of us here knew better, now it's confirmed for everybody that things shouldn't end as they did.

Despite the blows I've received from just hearing the info I've heard...through the difficulty, it seems all the main points were done. Randall was shown to be a good kid, he was nervous/geeky/insecure, was actually friends with ONE of the previous protagonists, he was influenced by other people (ROR), he was....what made him anti-social was a very embarrassing and humiliating moment...and that his distastes for Sullivan and Wazowski is not as drastic (as I keep saying) as people think. It's...painful to watch but...it's encouraging.

*chuckles* Quite honestly, it's coincidence, or what I'd like to think of as Irony. Strange...doesn't happen in the good way too often. Heh...wonder if it's safe to say "great minds think alike"...but unsure if I live up to that...
Anyway, it's true. I thought it as soon as MU was brought up. Actually now that I know Steve Jobs said it...makes me wonder about Walt Disney's line "Keep Moving Forward". I mean that's true, but sometimes yeah, to move forward you have to go back.
Unfortunately for Randall that's a doubled edged sword. Good, because it sets things up so people KNOW he's not this mean jerk who's just plain evil with no remorse, no morals, no nothing. Bad because....well...we see it.

Wishful thinking? Maybe, but... MONEY. Thats exactly what I was thinking! Why would Pixar go through all the trouble to basically re-write Randalls character if it really doesn't mean anything in the end? I guess when you think about it that way, there is still hope. And even if Pixar HASN'T thought of this yet, I'm sure the many many MANY new fans Randall is going to get form MU will voice their concerns. Randalls fan base will no doubt triple after this movie is released. I could honestly care less if they made a "sequel" or not. What they should do is give Randall his own movie. Which would kinda be a sequel but kinda not at the same time. The movie could be about him dealing with his banishment, I can see some cool things happening with. Just look at all the amazing fanfics about it. And after his role in MU, it would be easier for the audience to actually care.

I just hope that Pixar resolves this. They CANNOT just leave Randall's story in the air, or let people assume he died horribly, at the actions of his former best friend at that! That is just so messed up. I like the notion of showing Randall as a sweet, polite, geeky kid in MU, and then just sorta taking him out of the main picture and leaving us with that, to set up the possibility of a sequel, a mini-movie, SOMETHING set post-MI. If they'd made the sequel and showed Randall's good side, too many people would not have "bought" the idea of him "turning good". Now that they've shown that he WAS good all along, it would make seeing him that way again more plausible. Funny how it's so much easier for most movie-goers to believe someone can just "become evil", but so hard to believe that the opposite can happen, as well, isn't it? You'd think that there would be a genuine reason for showing all the world sweet, innocent Randy, but I just hope it's not merely to play fan-service to us and say, "OK, here he is, just as you guys imagined him! Happy now?"
