Mike surely is a psychopath...he seems heartless like Randall, when Randall tries to murder Sulley. I feel really sorry for the lizard, because Waternoose is such an ***. He manipulated him so badly... But do you really think that Randall dies in the trailer? Killilng by the hillbillies? Sorry for my bad english. I'll do my very best XD I don't WANT to believe that Randall died in that trailer(and those were Louisiana CAJUNS, not "hillbillies"; hillbillies do not live in swamps, but in the Appalachian Mountains), but unless I see or hear something official from Pixar, as opposed to a comic series or ride made by someone else, it's hard not to think of it that way. I have seen the damage a shovel can do to a living thing, and I know that Cajuns aren't going to go after something they think is an alligator with any intentions other than killing and eating it. Alligators are a food staple in Louisiana. It would take no less than a miracle for Randall to have survived, period, and another miracle for him not to be left with serious, life-altering permanent injuries if he did. Knowing that Mike and Randall were once close friends makes how this all wound up all the more sad and tragic. Rivals or not, a conscientious person should have realized how much Randall had changed and known that this was not normal, that something was wrong, and at least tried to help him. Mike was more concerned, though, with breaking the Scare Record first, more so than Randall was, and chose to torment Randall for his continuing "losing streak". When the opportunity to get rid of his former friend/roommate came up, especially now that Randall had lashed out at HIM, Mike jumped at the chance. Randall's haters make a big deal of HIM being "sadistic", but don't notice Mike and Sulley, and Mike especially, joking about the fact that they are about to commit murder. One more thing, a "pet peeve" of mine- please don't call Randall a "lizard"! He's no more a "lizard" than Sulley is a bear or a gorilla or a sloth. He's a MONSTER, just like the others. He's not even a reptile. pitbulllady

Randall's...not heartless. He just keeps getting into situations that are over his head. Whether kid or semi-adult...it keeps happening.

Yeah I don't think he's heartless either. He's just gone through a lot of bad situations and he's got an inferiority complex. He's really insecure.

And that's explained a little too by the way. I was right about my general theory. Didn't want to be, didn't want to think about him in such a thing in reality, but alas, reality is not kind to kind.

Randall's...not heartless. He just keeps getting into situations that are over his head. Whether kid or semi-adult...it keeps happening. Yeah, this bothers me a lot… The worst part is that nobody even tries to help him. Nobody cares. Monsters around him are too lazy to notice that something is going south, that he is not in control of his life even though he appears to be. I don't want to woobify him, but I see it happening so often IRL that the topic itself would deserve a movie of its own. Instead, unless they surprise us with something unexpected, Disney/Pixar folks prefer to add insult to injury. Punishment for what he had done or what he had attempted to do? Yes, but a fair one. Being thrown out of his own world by a former friend and beaten by a shovel is not fair by any means.

Well that's the thing. To put a sorta spin on things...he's surrounded by screaming every day when he works, when he's actually screaming inside most of the time.
What's really the clincher is that...Randall was a nice guy...got himself manipulated...got his social life wrecked thanks to it (I mean ok, it was his choices in one way, but he was TRYING to do the right thing, TRYING to keep what he NEEDED. And Johnny was no help manipulating things). Then when GETS what he wanted, to be Scarer, the Top one no less, and prove to everybody that he is something.....Sullivan and Wazowski come in again and, through another one of life's manipulations, he get thrown in the dark again. And when he thinks, AGAIN, that he's TRYING to help, and things go wrong, AGAIN. He snapped. I mean really...when things just keep going south and it looks like your about to lose everything again, you WILL SNAP. Randall's got strong willpower in him to keep going like he did, but it was tested to the limits.
And what happens in the end? Sullivan gets it all. Again. He's CEO now. No trial, no conviction, no punishment whatsoever. Granted, he's in trouble NOW (you'll see why when I get that sequel out)...but still. On the onset, it was like a REWARD. And THAT'S why things keep getting screwed up. In every main, live altering situation, Randall gets the short end of the stick, and Sullivan and Wazowski get the high end through luck and circumstance.
It's a no wonder Randall's how he is. A representation of life's troubles waiting in the wings to strike you down. To quote something from scenes between Randall and Sullivan I'm working on...."WHY CAN'T YOU LET ME BE HAPPY!?"

*blinks* Somebody looking forward to it...? That's surprising.
Umm...at the moment, I'm waiting a little bit after MU. I need to confirm a couple things and see how things are for myself. I have a discerning eye for detail. While a friend.......of mine has informed of things, it's good to get a personal view of things. Depending on the material I have, I may put out some things early. I'm trying to go for a Pixar-worthy product, but some items may be...a little too dark. I'm not 100% sure if it's going to be just a fic....I'm trying out some mixed script writing and seeing if there's a simpler way for me to comic things, as seeing is more compelling than reading (I'm also interested in trying to do my MI series, focusing on the time between MU and MI).
But yeah, some things may be earlier, such as a piece in the beginning that quite elegantly explains just how Sullivan and Wazowski managed to avoid going to jail.

Uhh...wow 0_0 Thanks 0_0
But yeah...what Pixar does is cleverly blend humor with the drama, to make it both entertaining and understandable. While Sullivan and Wazowski, at least intially, take center stage, I'm hoping once Randall comes in, he takes the spotlight on things. Sullivan's story is pretty much figured out...Wazowski's a little better...and Randall's....going through multiple stages. Afterall, have to have it just right.

Time frame? Uhh...well it's the sequel heh heh. Umm...depending...it may start a few days after the child incident at MI...where we see a...."conversation" between a group of individuals involved heavily in the Scream Industry. Then we jump to that "year later" bit we see at the end of MI (your new, but it was revealed that the end of MI is actually a year later). The opening, if it goes the way I was thinking, sets up a few things that happen later on.
Oh jeez...I haven't been to fanfic.net in....maybe century...didn't know it was still around actually.
(Though if your looking for a fic-fix for the moment, the fanfiction section here should have some stories that are not on fanfic.net. If your looking for a good laugh, try the New Years story made by yours truely hehehe)

I'm trying out some mixed script writing and seeing if there's a simpler way for me to comic things, as seeing is more compelling than reading... If you haven't already, try reading some of Syd Field's books on screenwriting. They're really great and insightful. Definitely a must read, especially if you're striving for perfection.
