The looting's terrible. The whole thing is bad enough without people taking advantage like that.

They aren't "taking advantage". They are trying to survive! Those people have nothing-no food, no drinkable water, no medications, no clothing except the now-filthy rags on their backs. I cannot blame them for taking what they need to stay alive. Even the guns-people fear for their lives, and have been reduced to the most basic animal behavior. They are just like Randall was in the movie, having reached that state of desparation where rational thought processes and things like moral standards cease to exist, and that primitive part of the brain found in all vertebrates takes over. Survival is the most basic biological process, and when things like this happen, even us humans are reduced to such a state.

It's disturbing. Really. To think about the acts being comitted by once everyday people. The animal instinct that creeps up on us in such situations is scary. Such disregard for other people. I find it frightening that I, faced with life or death would become such a thing. Oh dear, our prayers are with you all.

How strange.... It should be for humans to work together in, or after, a state of disaster...how strange....

I've heard that there have even been a few cases where people have injured others to get their food and supplies.
And having to evacuate a place of that size...

Well a very important guy with the surname Reily who's some kind of a cheif of police over there was on TV about five minutes ago, saying that they had got the majority of people out, though there are still some to be rescued. Most are safe, though.

Well, that what he was saying- whether he was just putting on a face to make it look as though the whole situation has been handled might be a possibility, though.

If humans could just get along with each other, then having to deal like natural disasters like this would be so much easier.

Cool....that is the basis of my final story.... That concept of humans getting along will NEVER come true sadly...but a few have tried...
