Ooh ho ho. Of course he's not dead....that would make Wazowski and Sullivan murderers heh. This is why I think a sequel should be happening. To make things more believable, more stable, we had to go BACK for a reason...before we could go forward. Well that wasn't just directed towards you, other people on here seem to think its possible that he is dead. That does make sense, regarding Randall. I think regarding Sully and Mike though, a sequel could have happened without going back.

King Me (This one's small, so figured why not. This could occur....sometime BEFORE Randall gets into the ROR fraternity. Enjoy a twist ending heh.)
"So...YOUR part of the Scareing Program?" "That's right....you?" "Engineering Major." "That's my secondary." "No kidding." "Nope." "So is it any different than other programs or-" "Are you trying to get me to lose concentration on the game?" "Oh me? No no no no...just interested."
"I think your trying to get me to lose concentration...it's just a game," Randall thought. He wasn't really a chess guy. It was a mind game, and required skill, which he had, but it wasn't like he was a master at it. It was the strategy that interested him. Maybe there was a certain satisfaction for when he did a good move, he never did study chess techniques, no he was focused on Scareing. He did have engineering prowess, of course, and it would be useful if he ever wanted to dip into it. Maybe that's why he selected to try a friendly game with somebody who had a similar interest.
He moved his chariot, or "rook", though didn't feel confident with the move. He just needed to kill some time, he didn't aim to put full on effort into this. His opponent took it two turns later. Oh well, might as fight it out, take a defensive stand before falling, he was use to that. And it worked out, he managed to hold off defeat for a while, his opponent getting slightly edgy, he noticed, about it. Maybe he should have apologized, but he kept waiting for an opening, but it never came. He still had a few pawns left that were guarding his King. He actually felt sorry for the pawns. The most generous piece on the board, but also the most expendable. In the end, his opponent won. "I'd probably be better at checkers," Randall commented, good naturely as he adjusted his glasses. His opponent did the same, though a bit smugly. "PROBABLY," he remarked.
"Well it was just to pass the time," Randall remarked, getting to his feet and coming around the table, holding out his hand. "Good game Oz." "Boggs," Fungus replied, shaking the hand. Randall turned around and started back to the dorm, Fungus watching as he did so. "We'll probably have more sometime," Fungus remarked to himself.

Exactly, which is more interesting that Randall is getting more screen time so he's understood better...and then we can see the sequel in a better light.

Heh heh heh. Well...considering Randall never called him "Jeff", they weren't really best buddies as people think 0_0 Yep and here is something interesting, Randall only called him Fungus once during the whole movie, that being the scene where he captured Mike by mistake, when he says "Come on, while we're young her Fungus". He didn't address him by name at all except in that scene.

Traitor (I'm kind of proud of this one. It may not be exactly something that can happen...but I like the set up. That is, of Wazowski asking Randall's help on a certain something....trust issues...and forcefulness into betrayal...when things, unfortunately, line up in such a way that many people lose something. This could happen later in the film, when breaks start happening.)
"This is crazy! Mike you can't be serious!" "Oh I'm serious alright! Look at my face, this is my serious, going to go-get-all face." "But you'll be breaking the law!" "It's not breaking the law if you don't get caught right?"
Randall sighed out a shaking breath, moving a hand to the bridge of his glasses, eyes closed. This conversation was going in circles. This wasn't just some simple skipping of a class or college prank, this was a serious issue, and Mike was treating it like a regular night out.
"Mike, your breaking IN to a scare factory! It's breaking and entering no matter which way you look at it! We're not scarers yet and..."
"Yeah! That's just it! See, we go in, grab a door, scare ourselves a kid, and we're in! The Dean would HAVE to make ME a scarer when they all see me fill that canister!"
Randall lowered his bridge hand, letting both fall to his sides, slighting hitting against the red and gold of his ROR sweater. "You can't...Mike...look this is NOT the way."
"Course it is! Everyone at the fraternity agreed! Even Sullivan can you believe that?"
"But Mike..."
"Squish boy's mom is going to drive us up there...I mean she thinks we're just going there for a night trip or something but..."
Randall shook his head, his mouth curving in a display of utter unsureness. This was...he didn't need this right now. "Mike...why are you telling me this?"
The Mike came close to him, looking up. "Because! You can help! You can do that walk climbing thing, your faster than everyone, I think, and you know just as me about everything there is!"
"Mike! If I do this, we'd get caught and I'D be kicked out of the Scarer Program too!"
"With this plan WE WON'T NEED THE PROGRAM!" Mike bellowed, mouth wide and a happy glint in his eye.
Decision time. Randall arched his back away from Mike, as if that happy glint was pushing some sort of force on him. Mike was waiting for an answer, specifically a yes. But even though Randall's face showed his surprised and dumbstruck expression, his mind was racing.
Mike wanted to break into Monsters Inc.! Break the law! All for this...crazy obsession. Randall could appreciate what Mike wanted to be...but he wasn't about to go THAT far. Hard work and practice, that is what Mike needed to do. It wasn't solely his fault he got kicked out of the Scareing Program, but taking a shortcut, as Mike seemed to see it, like this...it was madness. They'd get caught, and who knows what would happen. They were just college students so maybe they could get off easy, but the Dean...who knows how she would react.
But Mike had confided this plan to him. To HIM. Ever since Mike went into OK, they haven't talked as much as they had before, and Randall still considered Mike a sort of friend despite what Johnny and the others said. Still, they were meeting at night and without the knowledge of their respective fraternities. Randall had come solely because Mike asked him. It had to be important, but he didn't expect this. He expected they might just patch things up or something but...
It was at this point, Randall realized something.
He couldn't say "yes".
"I...I..." he began.
"Yeah? Yeah?" Mike egged on, expecting a "friend" to do this for him.
"I....I can't Mike."
"Come again?"
"I...I can't help you here."
Mike took a few steps back. "W...What? Why not?"
Randall blinked. "I...just gave you the reasons..."
"You were serious? Your saying no? Your not going to help with this?"
"With THIS," Randall quickly replied, leaning back in. "Mike, if it was anything else...you needed help studying or training or something...anything but something like THIS I..."
"Wow," Mike stated, giving a dumbfounded look as if he never really thought "no" was an option. That word hung for a while as Randall tried to get his thoughts out. He was little late. "Just...wow. No huh? So after all that? After everything I did?"
Randall blunk. "A...Actually Mike I was the one who..."
"So your NOT going to help me be a Scarer? Well that really says a lot you know..."
"Mike it doesn't say anything. I'm telling you DON'T do this, your going to-"
"Of course WHY would you care NOW? Your in the Scareing program, YOUR," Mike began, marching forward and jabbing a finger at the letters on Randall's sweater. "...YOUR in one of the most popular fraternities on campus now. Why WOULD you help me out? YOUR all set!"
Randall's hands flew back un-defensively as Mike jabbed at his attire. He wasn't expecting this. He didn't want Mike mad at him, but he wasn't thinking, he was...why would he...?
"Why are you...saying that? I..." Taking a step forward, Randall felt Mike crossed a line. "I got further in the program AND in a fraternity because of my talent and hard work Mike! You can too if you just-"
"Oh yeah I get it," Mike interrupted, turning and walking away. "I shouldn't have let you in on this, now your going to rat us out before we even start, that's just perfect."
Randall's chest was heaving now, a little tense from Mike's words as he leaned toward his direction on his front feet. A moment passed, and he managed to restrain himself, straightening up. The least he could do...
"I...won't tell anyone."
Mike folded his arms, glancing back. "Yeah right."
"No...I won't."
"Yeah yeah...thanks for nothing," Mike muttered, walking off.
"Mike I won't t--!" Randall started, but Mike wasn't turning back. He was alone now. After a moment, hand out stretched, Randall pulled back, stuffing his upper hands into the pockets of his sweater, the lower ones crossing and rubbing respective shoulders. He wouldn't tell the Dean or anybody, he could do that much for Mike. It was as if their conversation never happened. Mike was obsessed, he could tell, and it was going to get...not just him...but the entire Oozma Kappa fraternity in trouble. Would he stop it before it happened? Betray Mike's trust?
....No. Mike got them into this mess. If they managed to get away with it, alright. If they got caught, which they probably will, maybe he'd vouch for them somehow. But, as he made his way back to the fraternity house, he hoped Mike would see reason before it was too late.
Unknowingly for Randall and Mike, somebody else was "seeing" as well. Behind the corner of the Gamma Roar Roar house, where the two had decided to meet, Chet gave a wide malicious smile, his eyes narrowed. Having an insider of sorts, even when the insider was unware of it, on the Oozma Kappa geek-ternity had it's advantages. "Oh I can't wait to tell Johnny!," he murmured excitedly to himself. Sometime soon Johnny and the boys will have a "little chat" with their geeky new member on a certain issue that could break Oozma Kappa, and that little green stink-ball...

Sneeze (I had actually figured that Randall's blending ability could be connected to his emotions. Now that I think about it, makes sense it was hard to control when he was younger...all those mixed up emotions and reluctance. This could occur near the start, and gives a little more direct input to having Randall stand out a bit. (Is also a secondary plug so that he doesn't come off as the "rich-type" which I highly doubt he was. I mean, money buys lots of people, he wouldn't have had any trouble if he had it.) Anyway, if anybody remembers his sneeze when he's older, remember, he's got control of it by then.)
"Mr....Randall Boggs?" "Y-yes ma'am." "You understand I do not generally have personal interaction with students correct?" "Yes ma'am." "Yes, well, in your case, your references had caught my attention."
Randall fidgeted on chair, feeling he was in a lion's den. Not because he was in any danger, physically...but because he was in a room with the Dean. If he messed up in some way, he could be taken out of the program. He would be out before he was even in... But, at the end of the class, he was called in. The Dean was already intimidating, and he was, ALONE with her. That, and he felt a little cold, a sneeze might be coming on...he didn't need THAT now...
"According to your files and registration, you have been awarded several scholarships and are being sponsored by a benefactor?" the Dean continued, looking at the papers without looking at him. At least a judgmental stare was avoided.
Randall nodded, quickly pulling up a digit to keep his glasses in place. "Y-yes."
"Hmm," Hardscrabble hummed, looking over the papers with that same stern face. "I know your benefactor Boggs, I can vouch for his motives to fund your education as a Scarer."
"R-really?"
"Yes...I'm quite familiar with him," the Dean mumbled to herself, as if this were personal. She came around her desk, laying the papers on them. She straightened more, if that were possible, tapping a finger to her chest. "He has sponsored students on occasion to come here to be Scarers. Probably thinks of himself as glorified talent scout for the university, but I tell you he has no such position."
"Oh," Randall remarked, leaning backward. Don't sneeze...don't sneeze.
"Still," Hardscrabble continued. "The students he has sponsored have, for the most part, contributed some factor in their education that makes them more than eligible to graduated the program. I suppose being retired hasn't affected his eye for talent." She looked up, nearly spooking Randall to a point that would have caused quite an embarrassing occurrence. Taking her hands off the papers and placing them behind her back, she stared down at him. Thanks to the chair, Randall was at equal height but...she still managed to do it. "What is on paper, however, doesn't necessarily trump a visual presentation Boggs," the dean began, her eyes running down him. "What is it exactly that you believe makes you an eligible scarer, aside from your academic prowess?"
Randall gulped. He was expected to do that NOW? Oh man the pressure...even if he wanted to it wasn't like he could switch it- "Well I-" he started. He should have taken a moment to clear his sinuses, because before he could even finish, he sneezed. "Hm," the dean murmured, raising a brow. "Oh...sorry!" Randall quickly finished. "I see what he was looking at, though I say that in no humorous way given the circumstances," she stated, looking Randall up and down. "H...heuh?" Randall asked. Looking down at himself, he realized, he did it again. He was invisible. Gritting his teeth, he wished he could control it. Always happened when he was surprised or depressed...or just too shy. Generally he felt that way almost all the time.
"Well, perhaps you do have a future as a scare after all," the dean continued, looking down at the files again. Randall gave a nervous laugh, aiming to get himself visible again. At least this time it was a good thing...

Poor Randy! That was not a good time to have a sneezing fit! Still, it worked out for the better, didn't it? The Dean recognized a genuine Scare potential and in what Randall(and probably everyone else)had always seen as a weakness, a flaw-his "disappearing issue". Sometimes, as I'm sure Dean Hardscrabble is aware, what you CAN'T see can be scariest of all!
Now I'm wondering...is Randall's benefactor/sponsor Mr. Fangs McDonald, by any chance? I also have to wonder if that is him on that poster on Mike's side of the room.

*chuckles* While being spooked by Dean Hardscrabble's stern appearance might have done it, I felt that a "physical push" would make things happen quicker. After all, a sneeze can rock a person's whole body sometimes.
Oh wow 0_0 Congrats 0_0 You noticed these little hidden gems I put in on occasion 0_0 For the piece...yes, that was it, Fangs. Now at this point, with when I made this a long while ago, I had the thought Fangs helped Randall somehow. I mean Randall had no real money of his own, so why not a sponsor? When you think about it, this guy is probably old, retired, but still has the Scare Record. And maybe he's got a soft spot for the industry and is always on the look out to help a talented scarer who doesn't have the resources to make it. Randall, as displayed, has that talent and Fangs knew he could make it with some help. Now Hardscrabble has to "deal with" a few of these sponsored individuals (she's not THAT old to have been around when Fangs was training I imagine) that Fangs has directed to MU. Whether she's jealous at his ability to find fantastic scarers, or doesn't want to "push in" on her OWN evaluation of scarers, she finds that Randall has potential.

Makes sorta sense. Sneezing kind of shakes your whole body and if your nervous, and it's done at a hesitating moment, it'll have an effect heh heh heh. Of course a thing to remember about Randall is that his mouth and eyes don't blend in completely. So it's like heh...wouldn't be surprised if Wazowski thought his roommate was a "ghost" heh heh.
.....anybody seen Traitor yet?? 0_0
