That was awesome, poor Randall just couldn't focus, too much worry on his mind. Whats really cool is that this is believable, I can picture Randall behaving this way. lol

It's always like a person who tries to get something done, a singular thing. You always think that there's ONE thing you forgot and it keeps bugging you heh heh heh.

Cheater (occurs much later on during the daytime of the Scare Games when fraternities go against each other in a race down the MU river on rowboats, of which MU is proud to be ahead of in competitions with Fear Tech)
"What the-!?" "Hold on!" "Why is the boat leak-aaahhh!"
Randall started, stopping his rowing. He was at the rear of the Roar Omega Roar rowboat, being able to give a firm enough thrust forward for the fraternity in this race. Looking back, he saw the Oogma Kappa rowboat turning on itself, dumping it's members into the the river. What happened?! These rowboats were solid, calibrated to fit for even a bulky monster. How did...? Randall looked forward, seeing if his fraternity brothers were quickly shocked. They weren't. In fact, several smiled at this fortuitous change in circumstances. And Johnny, at the head of things as always, was looking back, narrowed brow and a toothy grin. No...he didn't. Looking back, Randall spotted Sullivan dragging a few members over to the overturned rowboat, yelling out for where Mike was. On the shores, onlookers gave shouts of concern as teachers scrambled to get someone to help. The river wasn't too deep...for normal sized monsters. "Mike! Where are you?!" Sullivan yelled from the boat.
"Hey, Randall," somebody called. Randall didn't take his gaze off of what had just happened. He was thinking. "Keep rowing." Mike wasn't a swimmer, he would have dropped like a literal cannonball. Everyone else was too busy with...everyone else. "HEY! Rand-" "Damn it," Randall muttered. He let go of the paddles and got to his feet. "Hey what are you doing!?" Chet called from in front of him. Randall didn't listen, just got to his feet and jumped in. "What the he-"
Randall didn't see himself as much as a swimmer...but he managed. His eyes were more sensitive than others, but he could move well enough. He should have taken his jacket off before-hand, but this was something he felt to involve himself in... "We were doing FINE, we didn't NEED this," he thought angrily as he weaved through the water. Wait there was...Den? Dune? Don? Don! That was the name. Yeah there was Don, and he was trying to pull...Wazowski! There he was, his foot was snagged under something. Looked like some bike wheel or something. Probably some stunt puller tried to jump the river and his bike got the raw end of the deal and he didn't tell anybody. Whatever, it didn't matter. He swam over to them, getting Don's attention immediately. A bit...too immediately. The sight of the lizard monster coming in on him caused him to gasp, bubbles filing out of his mouth as he quickly closed it again. Randall murmured in his throat. A scare was good anywhere but NOW. Settling himself, he pointed at Don and jabbed upward, telling him to go up. A cautious glance from Don to Mike, who was trying to tug his leg out, made Randall tug the monster up by his shirt and pointing AGAIN upward. Hopefully he got the message, because Randall didn't want to waste more time with the geezer. He swam to Mike, observing the situation. Unfortunately, Mike noticed him like Don did.
"Framble!?"
Bubbles followed. Cursing inwardly to himself, Randall watched Mike seize his own wide mouth. Lost some time now. Grasping the bike wheel, Randall began tugging. The blasted thing was rusted, but thankfully it came easily. Mike was obviously not strong enough, and maybe Don pulled a hamstring or something. Regardless, the wheel popped and Mike worked his foot out. Whether he needed the help or not, Randall grabbed his arm and started for the surface. This was such a bother...it was so unnecessary. If somebody had really gotten hurt by this... They broke the surface, right near the Oogma Kappa boat. Ocular monster and lizard each taking a gulp of air, they both hit against the boat, gripping whatever they could to stay that above water.
"Mike? Mike!" Sullivan came over, passing by Randall, and taking a look over at his fellow frat member. "Mike are you alright?" "Yeah...yeah..." Mike replied, spitting out some water. "We won right...?" "Uhh, I don't think this one," Sulley replied. Randall re-gripped on the boat, looking further down the river. The ROR boat was farther off, in the lead if the race was still on. Sulley noticed Randall then when he was assured he was alright, then saw what Randall was looking at. Randall saw him at that moment, and could see the blue behemoth had put in a theory.
"YOU do this!?" Sullivan barked, waving over to Randall and grabbing him by the jacket with one large paw. Randall gritted his teeth, clearly not happy with the accusation, his fronds falling over his left eye. After what he did? THIS? No way, uh-huh. As if Sullivan didn't expect it, Randall brought up both of his left arms and gave the behemoth a firm push, causing him to let go and grip both paws on the boat. "I did NOT!" Randall declared as he did the action, pushing away from the boat and hovering himself above the water line. "Boat's got CUTS on the line! SOMEBODY did it!" Sulley shouted, thought it was drowned out by other shouting from the onlookers and frat members. Water dripping down his face, Randall shook his head briefly. "Well it wasn't ME." Gritting his teeth and looking away, Randall swam off, to the shore. "Sheesh, you help and look at the thanks you get," he remarked, loud enough for the Oozma Kappa's to hear.
Later on, when Randall caught up with the rest of the ROR, he prepared himself. He knew somebody on the ROR team had sabotaged OK's boat, and he had guesses. To everyone else, they won. To Randall, he knew they cheated. But what could he say? His word against theirs, and he would lose. Taking a deep breath, he slowed his pace, holding his upper right arm. He must have clipped it a bit on that rusty wheel. He felt cold, his jacket soaked, but it should dry up in the warm weather.... Johnny was at the head, with everyone else. At first they had looked satisfied, but when they saw Randall coming over they gave stern and agitated glances, which he had to look away from. Johnny, though, had had a considerate expression, one which turned to amusement.
Randall stopped a few feet away from the group, looking away. He knew the deal. If he ever did something wrong, he had to take whatever was coming. "Alright...let me have it," he said, sighing. The other frat members made motions of punching fists to palms or slapping noises, but Johnny waved a hand to get it to stop, walking over to the head and looking down at Randall. The voice that came out was the one Randall knew had a second layer to it, the words Johnny used were suggestive and sinister...he didn't like that voice. "Sad thing about that other Fraternity's boat huh?" Randall gulped, looking up and away. Johnny wasn't as smart as him academically...but he was smart in a different way. "...yeah." "Must have cut their boat on some rocks or something right?" "....yeah." "Everyone saw we won...but they also saw one of our members run in to help...right?" Randall's eyes went to Johnny now. Didn't take long to see that he had dodged a bullet. "Everyone will see that it had to be have been an accident. We were ahead, but we still had somebody go in and help because we're such good sports right?"
Randall stared at Johnny, knowing that the fraternity leader was giving him an opening...there didn't seem to be a different option at this point. In the end, Randall sighed and hung his head. "Yeah...it had to have been an accident," he consented. "Good," Johnny stated, straightening up, heading back to the group. "I mean if anybody CHEATED...they certainly wouldn't go to help." Randall saw the smirks out of the upper portions of his eye. Yeah, he dodged a bullet, but felt like he got a shovel to the face...

That was rather interesting. I can see ROR cheating, whether Randall goes along with it or not, we will have to see. I doubt there would be a scene where Randall saves Mike's life though, sadly. It just wouldn't add up, Mike would not hate the Monster that saved his life once, as much as he did in the first movie. In fact, I'm actually curious to see why Mike hates Randall so much in MI. With them being friends once, you'd think Mike would show a little compassion, whether Randall was being a jerk or not. It also makes me think that if anybody is gonna feel bad and guilty for Randall's banishment, it would be Mike. Even though Mike seemed over joyed when it happened, I can honestly see him gluing the pieces of the door Randall was thrown through back together just like he did Boo's. Possibly after taking a trip down memory lane and remembering his friend Randall rather than his rival Randall. That would be cool.

I know Randall's no cheater. If you need some convincing, take when Wazowski accuses Randall of it, Randall very nearly loses his cool and tells him what's REALLY going on. Considering Randall had to keep his mouth shut about the Scream Extractor for probably months, with sleep and health loss, it REALLY got to him that Wazowski accused him of such a thing and reflexively he aimed to defend himself.
I would think it was a life saving thing, but yeah I doubt that too. There's a better one I'll be showing that shows a form of "break-up" that could occur. I think what I liked about this was it proving Randall's no cheater (unlike the other ROR members) making him "different" from the rest of them and Sullivan's reactions...at this point I'm unsure of what occurs so it was a gamble really.
I think it has something to do with Wazowski's turned-unhealthy obsession with aiming to be a scarer and the fact that Randall became one (and, reluctantly didn't HELP). This is actually tinkered with in a future bit I have... Whatever happened really drew a wedge between them, to the point Wazowski just doesn't care at all what happened to him.
That's...really CRUEL of Wazowski when you think about it. Once was friends with this guy, something happened, and in the end didn't care two cents about the end result.

Well that don't mean that Randall NEVER cheated in his whole life. But you are right, he does come off as the guy that wants to be number 1, but wants to earn it fairly. I think, whatever it is that causes Randall and Mike to fall out, its Randall that the audience is gonna feel bad for. I just got a feeling thats how its gonna go down. Maybe after a time it starts to eat away at Mike, his mind flooding with old memories of back when Randall was his friend and it drives Mike to want to find Randall and bring him back. I think that would be a good way to go, don't just have Randall come back randomly, have Mike be the reason he is able to. That would show that there is still some sort of friendship deep deep inside and it would make Mike look a little better.

*shrugs* As kids we can cheat hehehe.
Hopefully show, get some compassion in there.
I...don't....see Wazowski doing that. BUT...*folds arms*...and this goes with my "sequel theories"...Wazowski's growing relationship with Celia might get him to think about family and go through a change that would allow him to make a commitment to Celia. Wazowski OBVIOUSLY has some flaws in the relationship, and if Celia finds out what he did to Randall (as I imagine it's something he hasn't told her), he'd need to fix it. Another theory is that...hands down Sullivan and Wazowski NEED Randall for some reason or another...whether it's to save their own butts, which Wazowski would certainly want to do, I'm unsure at the moment...

Really? I can easily see Mike doing that, even more now that we know the two were friends once. I mean, he showed compassion for Sully, his friend, when he rebuilt Boo's door. You don't think a trip down memory lane would make Mike change his mind and want to help his once old college friend?

I guess the difficulty is seeing someone like Wazowski dislike Sullivan...then become best friends with him....be friends with Randall...the hate him (with some-what passion)....he's difficult to guess with now. I will admit his rebuilding of the door was a very compassionate thing to do (though remember he started to like Boo too near the end).
*taps lip* As said, Wazowski has his relationship with Celia to focus on...however...Celia's reactions to what he had done may cause a break between THEM. Then...Wazowski gets to the point of actually analyzing what it is he had done. If you have taken a look at Recalling, Sullivan has a trip down memory lane...and at some point might share it with Wazowski.
Memory lane may help with things...but it would be a difficult road to travel.

You did say it yourself that Mike DID hate Sully at one point and now they are best friends. So that shows that Mike can have a change of heart and that means it could happen possibly between him and Randall and unlike his relationship with Sully, him and Randall have a foundation, that being the fact that they were friends once before they hated each other. I suppose your idea could happen too. But the difference is that your theory would easily work if Monsters University was never made. But I'm trying to tie my theory in with it. I just find it hard to see Mike and Randall as friends and then Mike have NO regrets relating to it later on after the events of MI as if it never happened.

I may have said "hate", before, I'm not sure, but in this I mean "dislike". I mean...so far...it's unknown exactly the degree of Wazowski's relationship (in the negative way) to Sullivan is back in college. With Randall, from what we see, it was good. So it's the missing part of three pieces. But with Wazowski I mean...banishment...enjoying it...knife/butcher...a year having passed...
Never made? Well we haven't seen it in it's entirety, so it's effects on a sequel are not completely KNOWN yet. I only can take into account of what I've seen. I knew much before Pixar even put it out. I knew Sullivan was a jock, I knew Randall was a shy nerd, and I took those things into account. Mike's positive relationship to him was an interesting curveball.
Regardless, without the knowledge of how Sullivan and Wazowski eventually became friends, I can't give a proper theory in regards to his future relationship with Randall and/or regrets.

Huh...funny...relationship problems. Sullivan's flailing friendship with Wazowski...Celia encouraging him to see somebody.... "do you have any other friends Mr. Wazowski?" Hmm...maybe the memory lane idea could be literal...

I said before that I think when Monsters Inc was still in production, Pixar did not know that Randall would get so many fans. Thats probably why they were so careless with his ending, I'm sure if they knew, they would not have just left us hanging like they did and its REALLY fortunate that they did not confirm that Randall was dead, that leaves it open for them to correct it. I guarantee if Pixar had confirmed that he had died, they would not be portraying Randall MU the way they are, that would have only generate hate from the viewers.

Ooh ho ho. Of course he's not dead....that would make Wazowski and Sullivan murderers heh.
This is why I think a sequel should be happening. To make things more believable, more stable, we had to go BACK for a reason...before we could go forward.
