What can I say? I get inspired and my head and hands wish to create. Aside from a piece I'm working on, got these little scenes in my head from all the stuff that has been gathered, and I need to put them down on paper/pad so I can get some ROOM in my brain! Anyway, these are tibits (I may add others on in the future) of scenes that just came to me for MU. They are not my diligent guesses/theories on what will happen, but merely scenes of thought provoking occurrences. As said, I just want to get them out of my head ^0^ ================================================ The Question"Hey Randall...YOU think I can be a Scarer right?" Randall flinched. He was glad he put his glasses in the desk before Wazowski talked, or he would have dropped them. There it was, that question. He partly dreaded hearing it. It had been only a few weeks or so since they came to MU, and things had been difficult. Someone, Mike had told him it was some guy named James P. Sullivan, had broken into their room looking for the Scare Pig mascot, and Randall had to help Mike rearrange everything on his shelves. Not to mention somebody had stolen one of his slippers. Either that or the pig got it. Still, classes were easier. Mike, he didn't want to admit, wasn't as sharp as he was, but he wasn't dumb either. He had the dedication to be a scarer and he was using it. It was an admirable quality Randall liked about his roommate, so they studied together. For once he he didn't have to do it alone, or be surrounded by huge thugs that may make good scarers, but not good monsters. But Randall admitted to himself, and he hated to, that Mike was lacking something. He had the knowledge, and he worked hard for it. But...he just...wasn't scary. At all. Randall knew he shouldn't judge. People doubted him, very few even said anything encouraging to him, aside from some teachers. But it was the eternal struggle to be honest, or lie so as to not ruin somebody's dream. So with a heavy lump in his throat, Randall made his way over to his own bed. Wazowski was on his, laying on his back, hands behind his...head if that were possible. Leaning a little against the bed side, lower hands to steady himself, Randall had hoped to climb into bed and get some sleep before such a question would be asked. "You've been studying hard, more better than anybody else I see," he admitted, pushing himself onto his bed. That was true. "Well yeah I KNOW I'm smarter than'em," Mike replied, a little too smugly. "But I've been thinking maybe I should, I dunno, bulk up or something. I think the last couple days I've been slacking." Randall blinked, lying back on his bed. Fitness was one thing...as geek-labeled as Randall was, he did exercise. As for Mike, he didn't know. But it didn't look like working out was going to help him to be in the same league as the students he was probably talking about. "Maybe I should work on a roar or something. You know, something noisy or..." Randall gritted his teeth, pulling both sets of hands together and tapping each "thumb". What to say, what to say. He considered Mike a friend, even though the monster hadn't seemed to say it himself. He hadn't had much experience with friendship before, and this seemed to be something to it. Being told or asked something in confidence. Randall couldn't deter him...whatever his honest thoughts. "Well," he began, adjusting his head on his pillows, looking up at the ceiling. "Anything's possible if you work hard at it." That sounded good, and honest too. "Heh, your right," Mike chuckled. "I'll keep getting those sweet As on the tests and when we do the practical stuff I'll be ready!" "Right," Randall mumbled, tapping thumbs again. He knew better though. To be a Scarer, or anything for that matter, you needed the knowledge and the capability. He had both, but Mike only had the former. Maybe someday he'll realize it and try for something other than Scareing. Randall nudged his head to look over at Mike's wall, noticing the monster yawning and turning over to get some sleep. All those Scarer posters. Mike really wanted to be one of them. Randall knew what it was, of course. It was a dream. Other monsters probably didn't care or get it, but he did. He couldn't tell Mike the reality, wished he could. But that would bring the monster crashing down. That would be...that would just be plain cruel.

That was rather good and really believable for Randalls character. Hope to read more soon. You should totally do one using that idea I had about Randalls intro in the movie, with him having problems blending. hahaha

Well was your idea, so your credited to it...but since you asked...and I do find it funny...I'll look into it.

Raining (occurs near the end after an unknown event, which had a negative effect on Randall. There is some slight language, but purely for effect/slight humor. The monster with the umbrella I didn't expect at first but strangely fits somehow)
Randall curled up on the steps outside the entrance way to Monsters University, burying his head behind his crossed arms. He felt cold. The Scare Games had gone late into the night, and it was starting to rain pretty heavy now. He could have got up and stayed under the cover of the entrance, but when the thought came to him, he didn't care to get up. The rain pelting over him just went along with how he was feeling. His chest felt cold, but he knew the reason. He was still wearing his Roar Omega Roar jacket, but Johnny had taken the liberty of slashing off the portion with the Fraternity's letters, leaving a gap in the attire that the chill air came through. Oozma Kappa had managed to win, and his own team had turned on him. Was it because he had been friends with Wazowski? Or because he was new? Or because he wouldn't stoop to cheating so that they won? Whatever the reason, he had been shunned by his own team and humiliated. He just wanted to be alone. He managed to storm himself out with his head high...but in the end he was torn up. So they didn't win? It was just a game. They could still be Scarers, Oozma Kappa won it fair enough...
Randall rose his head a little, his narrowed eyes peering past his arms. They used him. It wasn't a brotherhood. They just wanted to use him. Like Sullivan. His hands grew firmer, grasping the sleeves of his jacket. He just wanted to fit in, to be accepted. But they only accepted him for the sick pleasure of pitting him against a former friend. Who does that? And why was he so blind in trusting them?
A lot of things went through Randall's mind at the moment. Things began to click inside that made the obscure clear. He was an idiot. He was an ignorant idiot. He tried being nice. He tried helping and staying out of the way. He held his tongue and didn't speak out. He thought it was Johnny and the Fraternity that gave him the confidence, but no...they built him up to use him, and had no reservations about tossing him away. He was being treated like garbage, something disposable.
Lowering his head again and squeezing himself, Randall wished what he wanted in this moment. Right now, he wanted to get over these feelings. He didn't want anybody around, he wanted to be alone. He wanted everybody to go away. He didn't want anybody to disturb him. Randall breathed in and out, in and out, feeling the rain on his back, soaking through his sweater. That blasted sweater. If it wasn't helping to keep him warm, he would have ripped it to pieces. He opened his eyes again, forming tears blurring his vision.
"Heuh...?" His hands were gone. Eyes wide, Randall wondered what had happened. He flinched, but steadied a second later. No...his hands weren't gone. They were there...he could feel them. He could feel every scale, every twitch of bone and muscle. It was there, he just...couldn't see it. Straightening up and looking down at himself, all he could "see" was the ripped sweater he was wearing. He was there, but not there. But no, there...the rain was falling on his body, slinking down his hand, revealing that something was there but unseen. Eyes wide, Randall spotted that something else was visible. There was a puddle forming at the bottom of the steps, his reflect (or lack there of), was there. His eyes, his widened eyes, were visible too. He couldn't just change colors... He could turn invisible!
"My that's quite a talent!"
Randall started, jerking his hands away and looking up. Several feet away, coming from the road, was a monster in a rather large coat carrying an umbrella with the MU logo on it. He spared a glance at the puddle. There his reflection was normal, he could see himself again. The surprise must have turned him back. Randall forgot for a moment that somebody else was around. A stranger. In a flash he got to his feet. "Wha-what do you mean?" he muttered, feigning ignorance. When a person's invisible, they generally don't want to be seen and commented on.
The monster chuckled. From his voice, he sounded old. "Oh youngster, my eyes may be old, but I can see scareing talent a mile away." The stranger looked up at the university's entrance, in a strange form of affection. "I couldn't help but notice you there crying and-"
Randall snorted, at least he thought he did, crossing his lower arms and stuffing his top hands into the pockets of his jacket. Turning away he quickly replied, "I was NOT crying old man."
The monster laughed. One of those small short laughs that adults gave when they knew something was true but let the person think they were right. After a moment passed, the monster started up a few steps. "Isn't now the time the university had it's Scare Games? Shouldn't you be celebrating a good year with your...well from your jacket there...fraternity? Your friends?"
Randall had aimed to get the forming tears out of his eyes, but reaching a hand up to get rid of them would just prove the old monster was right in what he was doing. Gritting his teeth, the questions hit him like railroad spikes to the heart. "I don't have "friends"," he replied sharply. Blinking in surprise, Randall was a little...confused at himself. He never use to bark like that... Shaking his head, he added, "Don't need'em...I'm fine on my own."
"Well I can see that," the old monster replied.
Observant old git.
"Well, friends or not, that was quite a trick you did."
"What trick?" Randall puffed. It was difficult having a conversation right now, especially when he had to keep the back of his head to this monster.
"Turning invisible. That's a very special ability. I don't think I've seen it before...if I did it was scarce and I don't remember. You a scarer young mon?"
For once the old guy got something right in the conversation, so Randall cleared his throat. "Ahem, yes I am. Or...well be. Yeah, I WILL be."
"Well, I say you have a very good chance. The university and wherever you apply to would wise to keep you." Randall curved his head. What was WITH this old guy? Tell him stuff he already knew. "Hmm, I suppose I better be on my way. Who knows, we might run into each other on a better day eh?" the old monster added, and Randall could hear him going up the steps. Phew. Finally, alone again and-
"Oh by the way..."
-damn it.
Randall readied himself, just in case, as he heard the monster step closer to him, and he heard something being placed on the ground near him. "It's a fair walk to some place nice and warm, so you can borrow my this so you don't continue to get drenched." Randall didn't even bother to respond, but eased up when he heard the old monster leaving. He waited a few seconds.........yep alone. "Damn it," he muttered to himself, quickly running a wet sleeve over his eyes. It only made things less clear, but at least he got the blasted tears out. Breathing heavy again for a moment or two, he looked down, to the right. Laying on one of the steps...was an umbrella. "Great, probably have to return it," Randall sighed to himself. Looking up, the rain sure wasn't letting down. "Fine..." he complained, walking over and picking the umbrella up. "Huh..." Now that he looked at it, the umbrella was worn, but capable. But the logo was...old fashioned. In fact the entire thing looked old fashioned. Didn't he see this logo in one of the history books on the university? "Sheesh old man...older than I thought," Randall huffed, unhooking the umbrella so it folded outward in a spidery-web-like way, holding it over his head. "At least it works..." Turning to the steps, looking up, Randall took a deep breath. Back into the fray again. But standing there, sheltered by this old monster's strange umbrella, Randall realized something. He had changed. He had left the battlefield...the old him wouldn't go back. But now he aimed to. And that old man had something right. He had talent. He was going to be a scarer. To heck with what everyone thinks. He was going to be one. He was going to be the best of his age. One day he'd rub in Johnny's face, and the rest of Roar Omega Roar, for using him. He'd show Wazowski and Sullivan too. He was better than Johnny, better that ROR, better than Wazowski, better than Sullivan. He was better than them all, and he would prove it. He didn't need friends. He would work hard, train hard, and make himself the best he could be. Smiling some-what differently to himself, Randall enjoyed that thought. The best of his age. He'd show them all, and he'd do it by himself. It just...took a few steps. And the first set was right in front of him... One step, two steps, three steps...

Wow, if this scene were to be in the actual movie, Randall would get allot more fans simply out of compassion.

It's sad for...dual reasons I think. I mean we KNOW what happens, Randall gets more secluded and brings on his tough guy persona...and it's really I guess his way of dealing with what happened. And it's just plain sad cause it is relatable.

You know , I have a feeling that something like this WILL go down in MU, between Randall and the guys in ROR, following the Scare Games. Think about it-why would they want a nerdy little guy like him in their ranks? Randall hardly seems like the rest of that frat at all. Johnny probably realized that Randall had an edge, both in terms of athleticism and competiveness that would ensure they would win, and brought him in, knowing that he really didn't fit, ridiculing him behind his back, using him, turning him against his REAL friends. That would create that rift between him and Mike. If things go horribly wrong during the games, leading to ROR losing, who are they going to blame? Randall, of course. And HE is going to blame Sulley and Mike for his humiliation, starting off that bitter rivalry and resentment that culminates with the two of them lynching him.

I have a good feeling that Randall's fan base is going to double maybe even triple after MU comes out and if that happens then (unless they already do it in MU somehow) Pixar will have no choice but to resolve the issue of "What happened to Randall after MI"

Hopefully, even a few of his detractors will see him in a different light and at least not hate him so much or find him "boring" and "predictable"(yeah, I've seen him called that). That still leaves open the issue of what happened to him, though, since we need something in absolute canon, not a game, not a ride at one of the Disney parks, to show that Randall did not die a horrible death in that trailer. pitbulllady

That's why I wrote it hehehe. *folds arms* The reason WHY...I dunno...is it the sick pleasure of turning a once-friendly guy into somebody...well like the person who's turning them? Like a form of parasite. I'm not too sure if it's Randall's physical prowess....now that I think about it, maybe they dragged Sullivan in for physicalness (and to take out Wazowski)...and Randall for his...knowledge? Randall was meek and preyable, Wazowski...well ROR had it in for him being smug to them. Maybe in the heat of the moment, but if ROR lost, Randall might see it fair...I mean I guess it comes from me thinking he DOESN'T hate Sullivan and Wazowski...just they've had their past... ---- Probably so. I mean I hope it's not this "it's his own dang fault" sort of deal...but just bad things that happen and falling in with the wrong crowd. I mean that's relatable, and yeah, should garner something that would want people to see things go right for EVERYONE in the end. ---- Yes, it would be interesting to see the result of watching things chronologically...

Color (Per a funny little bit One Pistol thought of, this could occur near the start of MU, with a certain monster walking in on another certain monster during certain form of practice. Be entertained...! ....certainly.)
Concentrate. Concentration. Concentrate. Focus. Focus. Focus. This time. This time he'll do it. He had the room exactly as he wanted it. He'd moved the stuff from his desk back to his luggage and re-made the bed for the third time. Lot less to concentrate on. His desk was...right to his left. The other one, other side. There was the bookshelf there too. The beds were behind him. He knew his sheets and luggage by heart. Oh! The window! Yes...yes he closed it. Practical as well as privacy, last time didn't go so well. Alright...
Concentrate. Concentration. Concentrate. Focus. Focus. Focus. "I am...invisible. I am air. I am unseen. I am...things that can't be seen," he thought. Now that he was finally at the university, he felt that it would work. He was here, to be a Scarer.
"I feel like I'm forgetting something...no...concentrate."
And he could change colors. If he concentrated. But now that he was here, he tried to go for the gold, to become completely un-seeable. Doing a color was easy, a pattern too a lot of the thought, but if he could become invisible with this, everything would be ok.
"No...I really do think there was something...come on, come on."
No bullies, no pranking, and an assured uniqueness that would make him a great scarer!
"...Did I forget to block the door?"
*click*
His eyes shot open, the door knob turning. He DID forget something... The door opened and Randall stood stock still, inadvertently blushing that he was being caught in the act of practicing. He knew he would get a roommate, probably, and would have pushed the blocker out of the way if somebody knocked when they used their key but oh no!
In walked...wow. A short monster. Truth be told, Randall was dreading some towering monstrosity, not in the good way, to be his roommate. In fact, he forgot how nervous he was, lost in the practice he was doing. Green, one eyed, braces...maybe he lucked out!
Staring with slight confusion and surprise, the green monster curved his words. "Are...you my roommate?"
Randall blinked. At first, he thought the monster was stareing at nothing, confused that his roommate wasn't already there. But... "Umm...you can see me??"
"What? 'Course, 'Course I can see you," the green monster replied after recovering.
"Darn, I thought I would get it this time," Randall sighed to himself, looking down. "Gah!" He was PINK! No, not all pink, a bit of red in there but...oh no it must have been the embarrassing thought of getting caught in practice.
"What would...?"
In a flash, Randall headed for the door, one hand on his glasses, changing back to his regular color scheme before he opened it further, inviting the monster in. "OH! Welcome, welcome, your my new roommate right?" Randall stated, quick as he could to change the subject.
"Uhh...yeah..."
"Well great to meetcha!" the lizard monster said with enthusiasm, whipping around in front of the monster and taking his roommate's hand with three of his own, shaking more quickly than was needed.
The ocular monster was nearly shaking his whole body, starting from his extended limb. He had to hold his hat with the other hand, steadying the books in them, so it wouldn't fall off. "Uhh yeah g-g-g-g-good to m-m-meet you....!". Finally Randall stopped shaking. "...too...."
"OH! Where are my manners," Randall grunted, brushing off his chest, though with no need to, and adjusting his glasses. He extended a hand, much to the ocular monster's caution, though just one this time. "I'm Randall Boggs, Scareing major and Scarer-to-be!"
The green monster seemed to lighten up a bit at the words, his caution fading as he extended his own hand. "Mike Wazowski, same major, same-to-be, and in a short time I might add," Mike replied, shaking hands.
