Yeah, that's kinda old news already over on Pixar Planet and the animation forums. BUT...here's the thing: Pixar is famous for "fake" movie titles which get leaked out to the public one way or the other, so like many studios who rely so much on secrecy, they could intentionally "leak" plots and other things about these non-existant movies as well, to cover the plot of a REAL movie that they are making. Newt might not have ever really existed, but could have been a cover for a movie that Pixar IS making. Two rather ironic observations: One, a LOT Of people saw a somewhat "Randall-ish" appearance in the few pics of the lead character, and two, the announcement that Newt has been cancelled came pretty darn close to the announcement that MI2 was official. Coincidences? Perhaps...OK, PROBABLY, but still, you can't help but wonder...

It's such a shame too. Newt was one of my favorite concepts and I would have loved to see it. A very similar film coming out soon called Alpha and Omega. There's been some rumors that Pixar didn't want Newt to fill repetitive after a similar film was released prior. Still, I would trade Newt for Alpha and Omega and day. I don't have to see the movies to necessary know that...I think.
