I've been thinking about the Toy Story 3 storyline A LOT, and it REEEEEEEEEEAAAAALLY reminds me of a traditional animated film that John Lasseter and Joe Ranft worked on: The Brave Little Toaster. If you haven't heard if it, it's a story of... five lonely appliances: an electric blanket, toaster, vacuum, radio and a lamp, whose owner left them and they all decide to look for him before he goes to college. In the climax, they do end up in a dump, like TS3, but they all stay with their owner in college.

Actually, I did watch that movie when I was young. I think it even had two sequels.

In the one where they help animals, I must say I liked that the snake didn't have a bad role, which was ESPECIALLY unusual for the time.

I never did see that movie, but the snake thing is another reason why I'd hope that Lasseter winds up directing MI2. He doesn't seem to be nearly as dependent on negative stereotypes as Peter Docter is.

-Shrugs- My preferred candidates ARE him and Stanton in the end for me. I think either of them could do well.
He did direct Finding Nemo as well as WALL-E.
But this movie sounds cute.
I wouldn't think TOO much on it though, I mean TS3 did have them at the day care center and all and it seemed almost like something which could happen eventually when Andy grew up.
I think the first two were better though. But it WAS better than Up for me.
