My brother;s a lot like that. I mean, he's my bro and he shares most of my random tastes and I love him. We even have our own lexicon of in-jokes and references. But I've never told him I write fanfiction, or about any of my "obsessions" (Randall, Snape, Gill from Finding Nemo, Nightcrawler, John Linnell from They Might Be Giants and a huge array of bizarre actors) because he'd tease me endlessly and be very cruel about it and our relationship would never be the same. It's great to see everybody being so pro-weirdness- I am known to everyone in my school as a major oddball and I do sometimes get teased about it (I can't wait to get to university, where they don't care- stupid eighth grade), but I take solace in the fact that most of the bastards (Damn you, Brandon and Kyle) have secret obsessions of their own. They just try to hide them because they're desperate to fit in. So odballs: take comfort in the fact that you are confident enough to be yourself and find friends with the same real interests as you, rather than becoming another mindless drone just because the media tells you to be. There. Whoo. I'm done.

^yay another Snape fan. yeah, my mom used to make fun of me a lot for my character crushes (as i call them) but it doesn't really bother me anymore. i realized that even though im still the one who watches cartoons and plays video games, im still the more mature one.

Yeah beelz, I can relate to that! I'm the most mature of everyone who lives in the house! My father always makes fun of ME, so I don't dare to tell what characters I love with all my heart! I somtimes tell it slightly, though... My older bro' is really immature. And he doesn't watch cartoons and play video games anymore... And I do. ^^ We have something in common! ^^

yeah, my parents think that only little kids can enjoy cartoons. when i was 12 my parents told me to stop watching Digimon because i was too old! can you believe that! they wanted me to give up something i love just because it was a cartoon. i gave them a big speech explaining that, unlike them, i'll never give up the things i love even if they didn't met there standards and i didn't can what they thought about it because it was something i love and it was helping me, not hurting me. i said some pretty hurtful things to them. but they never pushed me again when it came to my obsessions. you would think they wouldn't have a problem with me liking such things, because it keeps me away from drugs and alcohol, but my parents are crazy. oh well.

Yeah I hate that kind of thing. I mean it's not like Cartoons can't be entertaining when you get older.

yeah it really gets to me. just like when my sister won't let here daughter play with "boys toys" like Power Rangers and she won't let her son play with dolls. it's not like it going to hurt them, just let them have fun i tell her. but she's one of these people who are blinded by stereotype. im glad my parents never did that at least.

Yeah, that's really something a lot of people don't understand (while most of them say they do)... Kinda strange... Like THEY only played with stuff like: girls with "girls toys", and boys with "boys toys"... It would obviously be less than it's now, but I'm sure they did something (too) what wasn't "ment" for girls or boys... Some parents are strange creatures...

There. Whoo. I'm done. You go girl! I am a big (no make that HUGE) oddball in the family and at school. Everybody at school "Vegan-Freak", a bunch of snobby girls kept on saying how they love to eat meat whenever I walk pass them, a bunch of boys kept on saying to me how they liked to chop off the heads of animals and shoot them. At home, my littlest sister thinks I'm weird because I love a bunch of baddies (Scroop, Sebulba, Redwall villains, hyenas, Fidget the peg-legged bat). My father doesn't appreciate that I voice my thoughts or anything! (Not that he's a bad father. He's a good one). But I'm just glad I'm here with everyone who respect my decisions and think I'm okay. That's why I love this place.

I'm not a vegetarian, but I can certainly understand your outlook. With me, it's less my beliefs as my tastes. Last year, everybody thought I was a suck-up because I befriended my English teacher. I wasn't sucking up; I genuinely like her. This year, my class is full of morons, and my new Engish teacher has me pegged down as the smart one, so we occasionally talk about stuff like "Waiting For Godot" etc. while the rest of the class looks on in dull astonishment. Also, I'm renowned for hating pop (Some people sneak into school dances; I sneak out of them) and liking Tom Waits and TMBG, so... yeah. I am a nerd, and damned proud of it! P. S. How did you know I was a girl? (kidding).

Yeah, I make friends with my English teachers too since I love to read. I'm not really interested in pop either.
