Really? Well, these bidders DO seem serious with the money they're spending. Maybe they are legitimate Randall fans.

*nods*
Admittingly, many used the "one-up" trick. The main climb however is amazing. The intial price was at an even $100 dollars. And in a single week the price has climbed to ten times that, literally.

$100? That's ALL? This is so rare, it's no wonder the price went multiple times higher! I wonder if the winner will be a member soon.

Well generally a low starting cost is to encourage buying. It's a general statuate of auctions.
Doubt it. But I might look into the bidders to check their interest to see any are fans, starting with the final bidder. Afterall, the final bidder is looking to hand over $1000 bucks. And there's only five hours left at this moment.

Indeed. Start off with the last bidders.

Damn, I bet everyone on here would love to have that sculpture just as much as me ;D! No way would I have been able to own that, but heck, one real life glancing would have just satisfied me . As everybody else has said, I'm very glad that that is going to a good cause , especially Haiti since they are in so much need right now after that terrible quake. Bids been set on private haven't they? But heck, I also very much doubt that the person will be a member on here or even join. I'm thinking whoever has purchased that is a very serious and avid collector with a big budget to play with. These are usually the prize possessions... the limited numbered stuff. I am in possession of a (I think) 70th Anniversary Mickey Mouse watch, which only had 1000# made, but heck, THIS is one of only 6! But heck, like something else rare that I have always had an eye on, let's make it an honor that it has graced the site of Ebay ;D.

Wow, the bid is up that high, now you know these people must have a load of money!

Exactly, Mistica. That's where I beg to differ with DinoGirl: if these people are willing to spend this much money on something like this, then it's quite obvious that they're not interested in Randall on a casual level.

The final bid is in people. And in less than 5 hours...the ending bid...is $2,024.00!!! So in LESS than FIVE hours...a thousand dollars had been added!

Yep...we're dealing with real fans, as opposed to just everyday collectors.

Yep...we're dealing with real fans, as opposed to just everyday collectors. Yeah, but the big question is...are these people who were willing to bid that much such fans of RANDALL, or of Pixar in general? I DO know people who are willing to spend that sort of money even for some item that they don't even like just because it's associated with a particular movie studio, or recording artist, or athlete. You can peruse the Pixar Planet Studio and see that there are people who are such devoted fans of Pixar that they'd spend that sort of money for a gum wrapper tossed away by a Pixarian, just because someone from Pixar touched it. I actually went to the premier of Cars at Lowe's Motor Speedway in NC with one. She yawned at the red-carpet appearances of people like Nelly and the NASCAR drivers(who are MAJOR celebs in this neck of the woods)but was absolutely star-struck to the point of tears over the appearance of....John Lassetter! I'm not saying that these people who have bid so much for this statue aren't doing it because they're fans of Randall, but it's more likely that it's because they're fans of Pixar, and the item up for bids probably wouldn't matter that much to them, or at least, the character it represents wouldn't. pitbulllady

Of course these days, pawning off $2000 bucks for something you simply like by association....heh...
But yeah *shrugs* Might be a fan. Might not. Might be a collector. Might be an admirer. Who knows. And besides, there were nearly 45 bidders. And it's not too much of a stretch to think that one or many of theses are in the categories.

You DO have a point, pitbulllady. Still, we ALSO know that the majority of Pixar fans view Randall as evil (which he isn't), and villains DO tend to make some people back off.

Sgt said what I would have added heh. But also there are fans of Randall who like him for being the "villain" despite not knowing all that we've found and know as fact. But regardless, we don't know.

Exactly, RB. Though those kinds of fans are a minority, at least relative to a whole movie, thank goodness. As much as I hate to say it, we DON'T know. I'm just trying to make educated guesses.
