Well they wouldn't find out about the extractor because there are several Scream Producing plants in Monstropolis and the kid could have come from anywhere. Well. Particularly, we find evidence that he has some care and thinks differently. Mainly from the extractor part and the door chase. But none the less about Boo.... Sean, WHERE do you get the idea that there were several scream-producing plants in Monstropolis? I know that in OUR world, in the United States, at least, only ONE power plant can serve a particular region; it is ILLEGAL for more than one to exist in the same city and serve the same customer base! This is not to say that there weren't others in OTHER cities; surely there were, but there is no evidence whatsoever in the movie or in any of the books that suggests that there were other plants in that one city. The CDA already KNEW that the child which had been spotted in Harryhausens had come out of a bag with the M.I. factory logo on it, and that's why they were IN THAT FACTORY-they KNEW that SOMEBODY from that factory had brought the child into that restaurant, and given that this factory had doors that led to the Human World, it would not take an Einstein to figure out that an employee of M.I.(and NO OTHER factory, even if they did exist)brought her in from the Human World, and took her to the restaurant, and therefore they wanted to interview all the employees and find out who had done it. At that time, the CDA did NOT know that anyone had brought her BACK to the factory. LGBB is right-the ONLY reason that Randall was up all night looking for "the kid" was so the CDA would not tear the place up trying to find her themselves, and stumble across the Scream Extractor, or find out information from HER, if they found her. Randall of course had no way of knowing how well(or not)she could communicate, or by which means the CDA could find out how she'd gotten in, but the more they hung around, the greater the likelihood of them finding out about HIS project. No doubt also he wanted to find her before Waternoose found out that she was the kid he'd been ordered to procure to test the Scream Extractor on, since this would have surely meant severe, possibly fatal, consequences for Randall. It had nothing at that time to do with any feelings for Boo or obligation to her. Randall was trying desparately to save his own neck, literally and figuratively. pitbulllady Now wait a minute! Actually, it's NOT illegal for several power companies to exist....it's just not practical. I mean, of course no two exist in the same area, because first come, first serve. However, REGARDLESS, Monstropolis still would not have more than one power company. Still, like I said, I DON'T like getting involved in these sorts of things.

^_^
Well. It is unknown about Monstropolis Law however. And Scream is a rather different form than electricity.
And it is unknown whether black outs caused demand for more power companies and such.
After all...Scream did NOT become, at first, the main stablizer for electricity.

It wouldn't matter, the fact of the matter is, we can take from the commercial that Monster's Inc. and ONLY Monster's Inc was there. That was the main giveaway, at no time did they mention another distributor.
And it wouldn't matter about laws, the power company that comes to the area first is the ONLY one that will be there.
As far as blackouts goes.....no. The ONE company has SEVERAL plants to deal with that, and if they're all out, it's the company's fault, or perhaps even the governemnt.

Well it WAS an M.I. commercial ^_^
Still. Scare Co. has it's own way of dealing with things.

Yes but if it HAD a distributor as you said, they would've been mentioned. If ANYTHING, Monster's Inc would be the one owning other companies.
Think of it this way.....people PAY to have electricity, it's CHEAPEST to have it come from ONE source....people WILL NOT and DO NOT pay for multiple sources. So what you're saying really doesn't make any sense. It's how business works sorry.

Oh?
Just wondering is all. I mean. We HAVE discussed that monsters can come from under the bed as well as closets.
