On what? You're making an analogy between reptilian monsters and African-Americans, with both having been slaves to other "more superior" monsters in the past? I sorta thought maybe it would have to do with the whole Irish thing-most people don't know it, but there were thousands of White slaves from Ireland and Scotland sent to the American colonies, too.
I don't know if reptilian monsters were ever slaves, but I would bet that they have long been thought of as inferior to other monsters, perhaps because they were "Johnny-Come-Latelies" to the Monster World and remained for the longest time among humans, which would make them seem "tainted" to most other monsters when they DID arrive.

Well you know....considering they ARE minorities and all..... Personally I don't think they were slaves but it's always been something that I wanted to know from you guys...
Well...reptilian Mons were partly put down because of how much they knew about humans... Actually....that's what got many of them killed.....

I would think that there wasn't slavery, as such, but that the reptillian monsters were just treated poorly.

Interseting thought, Sean.

Yeah, I agree with Light Rises for agreeing with Pitbull Lady.
It would be interesting to find out how the replile monsters got their bad reputation.

*prods ff.com writers* [/quote]
We know that monsters are descended from humans, and many human cultures have long feared reptiles, mainly because they seem so different from us, especially snakes, with their limbless locomotion and unblinking eyes. It would make sense that those early Mons would have taken some of that fear and myth with them to their new world. Also, if there is any shred of truth of the countless WORLDWIDE legends, intelligent reptilian beings, who were NOT mere animals, but a culture all to themselves, existed in the Human World as late as the Middle Ages, before vanishing, and their disappearance is credited to the spread of the Roman Catholic Church, as these beings were thought to be Evil Incarnate(as were any air-breathing things with scales). Where did they all go? St. Patrick is said to have "banished" them across the sea from Ireland, but to where? Given that the British Isle are home to so many of the ancient stone circles, that might be a clue itself. If that's the case, then the reptilian/scaly monsters would be seen as "Johnny-Come-Latelies" to the Monster World, having had the longest, and closest, contact with humans, which would make them "inferior" in the eyes of their new neighbors. Add to that a cultural bias already in place against real reptiles, and you can see how such racism could have started.
