Today was Career Day at my school, where one of the speakers was none other than Brian Hill of Blue Sky Studios (sorry, not Pixar )! Why am I bringing this up? Considering that he was another figure involved in animated films, I briefly talked with him about the campaign, which I'm going to follow up on in an email (one of my teachers knows him, so finding the address won't be a problem). I wanted to know what you guys thought of this; whether it was smart or stupid of me to do that.

I wanted to know what you guys thought of this; whether it was smart or stupid of me to do that. Even though he is not from Pixar(not NOW, anyway-people's employment situations DO change), I think it's still good to get input from folks inside the animation/movie-making biz as to what they think of fan involvement with the direction a studio takes with its characters. That is one of the things I always appreciated about Craig McCracken and Lauren Faust-they were active on most forums which discussed the tv shows they were involved with, such as "Powerpuff Girls" and "Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends", and were very interested in what the fans had to say and what they wanted to see, rather than trying to be distant and somehow above the people they made entertainment for in the first place. While they were limited by their studio as to what they could say or discuss(after all, can't give away too much), it was obvious that what fans thought meant a lot to them and helped steer their creativity. Of course, I don't know how this person would take a question about a character from a rival studio, but I don't think it was a bad idea. pitbulllady

Of course. The other reason I'm going to email him is to thank him for coming, anyway.

Of course, I still don't have the email address; my teacher hasn't emailed it to me yet. When I do, however, I shall give you all updates.
