Well see, I am a big animal-lover, and I stopped eating them (see my username, no flames about it), and I protest a lot of inhumane stuff. Bullfights, dog-fights, factory farming, stuff like that, and I usually send letters to PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and ask for their advice. Well I just thought, wouldn't it be cool if Randall fans made a P.E.T.R, (People for the Ethical Treatment of Randall)?

I don't know...
but somehow if I were to exchange two words in that phrase... M.E.T.R (Monsters for the Ethnical Treatment of Reptilian Monsters) would seem to exist in the Monster world.
(By the way, what is the species or scientific species name for monsters like Randall? Or am I just being stupid?)

I know what you mean, Veg- that is, if the P.E.T.R would be protesting against stuff like when people call Randall 'evil' and a 'villain', but, as Tailmister said, I guess it would apply more in the Monster World- there are, as we have discussed, evidence of predujice against lizard-monsters in the film.
And, about scientific names for Randall's species- well, I guess a layman's terms would be lizard-monster, but we can't really tell from the film what the real scientific term would be. We could guess, but since I don't know much about different species of lizards (unlike Pitbulllady, who does, obviously) and since Randall is, technically, an entirely different species, it's even harder to know.

Uh....what is it we're discussing? I'm a little lost....
Scientific name? Well....simply Mon so far. I don't know if they have exact names. Not like it matters for Randall. All his life he was simply called a Scaly. I guess those are the simply terms. Sullivan's a furry. And Wazowski's an....you get the point....

Randall may have some superficial reptile-like characteristics, but as I've always pointed out, he is NOT a reptile. He clearly is warm-blooded, like us. He is therefore NOT a lizard, and most likely(something we've also discussed)would consider being called a "lizard" to be a racial slur. Like all monsters, Randall would also be, to some extent, directly descended from HUMANS, which means he has human genes still present in his genetic make-up. To compare Randall, or any other monster(even that annoying green one-eyed spineless wonder)to animals is no more accurate than comparing ourselves to other animals. Randall is a PERSON-not a HUMAN person, but a person nonetheless. He is part of a culture, speaks a complex language, can comprehend morality and ethics(even if he is not always able to act within them), and understand the difference between right and wrong, as established by his society. He is not perfect, so he does things he KNOWS are wrong, as do we all, but he demonstrates in his treatment of Boo that he DOES have a conscience and is able to feel guilty about the wrongs he's committed, and to try to rectify at least one of them. Randall DOES need someone to stand up for him, and the others of his kind, but in the Monster World, it would be better if other reptilian monsters formed their own group for the protection of their rights as citizens of their world, rather than play the role of helpless victims and count on other monsters to stick up for them, which ain't gonna happen.

*nods* Yes! Randall and the others should form an alliance--since it IS doubtful that other monsters would try to defend them.

Hello...
They've been trying eversince the whole bias started. Faintly, Randall didn't want to get involved....

Wouldn't blame him. I can't imagine how he must feel, his entire life practically dictated by the fact that he has scales.

If I were Randall, I'd have also tried to just keep my head down and get on with it, rather than getting into all sorts of trouble with an almost certain bad outcome.
