Saw this on a plane. Interesting take on how we would handle monsters. First they are locked up for years in a lab, then when Earth is invaded, they become a superhero team.

I don't know whether the film looked that appealing to me I think it was the first teaser trailer that put me off, because it just made me go 'Ok...'. I seem to notice that Dreamworks exaggerate their humor TOO much. Even in, what I viewed as an accomplishment, Kung Fu Panda. Yeah I mostly like all their films but they are just not the same compared to the magic of Pixar. Pixar = Perfect when it comes to the humor and are almost perfect in everything else, especially the animation. Bob in the trailer just looked like a complete fool... Knowing my mother though, she'll probably buy me the DVD and I may very well ASK for the DVD. I prefer to not watch Dreamworks films in the cinema anymore, since I just expect repeated performances. Is it just me or does Madagascar 2 hint towards the ultimate classic, The Lion King in some scenes? Anyway ;D My point is, well, I just didn't like the look of the movie. And to your comment on how we apparently handle the monsters in that film: "Only at the precipice is humanity willing to change..." And that was from The Day The Earth Stood Still (REMAKE :/)

I'm honestly not up for seeing it. To me, it looks a little bit like another rip-off, this time of our favorite movie, M.I. I even listened to the SOUNDTRACK, only to hear in the piece, "Meet the Monsters," some jazzy tunes, most likely reminiscent of Randy Newman's score to M.I!
Besides, from what I've read about the story, it seems like it's "Alien vs. Predator," in the sense that only one out of three sides (humans, monsters, and aliens) would win. Also, though I applaud the writers for breaking some xenophobic stereotypes, they've also, in pitbulllady's words, "jumped the shark," in regards to the aliens, whose role STILL isn't that unusual for aliens.

Monsters Inc's music I love for the jazz typed style ! Yep, Dreamworks always seems to do them ripoffs... Antz - A Bugs Life Shark Tale - Finding Nemo Madagascar - (a dispute I heard about) The Wild Can't think of anymore at the minute...

I will admit that I liked some songs in "The Blues Brothers," though, but that's off topic.
