7'6" and 1460 lbs. Worked as trainee for less than 2 years before promotion. Sat on Mike in kindergarten, thinking he was a footstool.

Makes you wonder how long the average trainee works before being promoted to Scarer, doesn't it? I guess, though, that it's comparable to an Associates degree in a community college or a degree from the military. Then again, considering that Sulley was A)best friends with the CEO, and B)had the best TRAINER in the company, it's not too surprising. Too bad he didn' squash the little Eyeball; that would have solved a lot of problems later on. pitbulllady

Sullivan actually got high graded scores in his tests for Scareing fields...I suppose that it was planned out that he'd be paired with the best scarer at the time. *blinks* I guess I can take a quote from Randall and say that Wazowski "has the tenacity of a co-ckroach"

Okay I have a question... If Sulley seems to skip class so often in MU (going off of the idea that's a habit from high school), how the heck did he get acceptef?

Okay I have a question... If Sulley seems to skip class so often in MU (going off of the idea that's a habit from high school), how the heck did he get acceptef? One word: Nepotism. He's a SULLIVAN! His dad was one of the most-famous Scarers ever, a household name! That would be like Paris Hilton in our world, someone who gets all these wonderful amazing perks and fans simply for having a particular last name, a certain pedigree. It's exactly like Mike said-" you can mess up over and over and people will still love you because you're a SULLIVAN!" That is exactly why Randall came to resent Sulley so much, too; guarantee that if HE has skipped classes often and goofed off in high school, HE never would have gotten accepted into even a Jr. college, let alone a prestigious university! Guarantee that if HE had done something on HIS Scare competition in the Scare Games and caused Sulley to mess up, that Mike would have pitched a screaming cat fit and gotten Randall penalized, if not caused a re-match! It is a fact, even in our world, that kids of famous and/or rich parents are often not held to the same standards that the rest of us are. They can and often do get by with things that would land any of us in serious trouble. It's a double standard that is very, very real. pitbulllady

The school seems to have ridiculously lax standards. They accepted Mike "Never Able to Scare Anyone Ever and the Dean Knows this on Sight" Wazowski and Randall sans invisibility plus nerd glasses and awkwardness (generally described as some variant of "cute"). And all of the O.K.s. Letting in the naturally scary guy with a bad attendance record doesn't seem that out of reach.

Colleges and universities base-or rather, they're SUPPOSED to-their acceptance of students on students' academics, not on looks. I never had to send in a photo to any college I attended. MU has no idea what either Mike or Randall looked like; all they would have looked at were their grades in high school and the entrance exam scores. We saw in MU that Mike actually made very good grades on paper, and undoubtedly Randall did as well. They would have gotten accepted based on those criteria, plus at that time, most universities also required prospective students to submit a written essay, and again, I can see both Mike and Randall acing that easily. It is a fact, though, that universities also DO look at last names, and students of well-known parents, or parents who contribute a lot of donations to the school's alumni fund, ARE given preference over even kids with really high academic scores. Mike and Randall got in based on their GPA and test scores, while Sulley got in based on his family connection. That happens just as much in our world as in the Monster World, trust me. pitbulllady

You also probably didn't need to submit a portfolio of work to get into your college, either. However, people with art related majors do have to do so (at least, in a lot of schools), because that specifically pertains to their field of choice. Same thing with scaring; a picture might not help can design majors, but for scaring majors it would. If you look like a raptor, you are going to be scary. If you look like a teddy bear, you aren't (I don't like talking in absolutes about the idea of being scary, but the movie does it, so). I'm not saying they definitely had to send in a picture (since all we see is Mike opening a letter, I think), but it just seems logical. Honestly, the idea they didn't seems to support the idea they're lax, if anything.

I actually WAS an Arts major, minored in Biology, and I never had to send in a photo. Back when MU was supposed to have taken place, I don't think any universities required photos of prospective students. It would be difficult to tell from just a photo if a monster was scary, after all-remember the cute little fuzzball at MI that morphed into that spider-looking thing? It wasn't just Mike's appearance that wasn't scary, but everything. He couldn't sound scary, even, and at least Randall could mange a pretty decent snarl, backed up with a lot of really big sharp teeth. Plus, lots of people, not just kids, are terrified of reptiles, and any monster that looks like a reptile is gonna be a "trigger" for those people.

I said "Portfolio". The thing you fill with already done work so the universities know how good you currently are. I don't know where you went to school, but every place I've looked into has wanted one (or a "sample", if they don't use the word). I was making a comparison, not saying the situation was exactly the same in every way. The point was in both situations the schools want a taste of what you can do before you actually get there. Back when MU was supposed to have taken place there weren't many teleportation doors, either. Their history is obviously not the same as our's. Then said spider would take a picture as the spider. And I'm not saying they would go entirely on a picture, simply that it would help. But I think the point got lost: MU does not have strict standards as to who gets in. You have the slightest shred of potential to maybe possibly scare someone? You're in. You already look terrifying and skip class a bit but not enough to outright fail? You're in, too. Also, something that's bugging at me, I remember him showing up late on the first day ridiculously unprepared. I don't remember him skipping. When'd that happen?

Haaha PBL I can tell you are an Arts major! That's awesome because I am studying Art, Biology, and Physcology. Ohhh, I get the Sullivan part. I know it's not CANON CANON, but when playing Disney Infinity, Sulley says something like "Study scaring, go to class, pssh like that's gonna happen!"
