"Morphine..." Morphine that's what it was! Uhm, wanna explain HOW Randall got ahold of a controlled, highly-addictivie heroin derivitive? Morphine is simply refined heroin, after all-an opiate which is HIGHLY physically addictive. You can become physically dependent on this stuff after just a couple of uses, and you simply cannot quit, cold-turkey. Withdrawal requires medical intervention, often with the junkie having to attend a Methadone clinic to replace one addiction with another, until he/she can be slowly "weaned" off of smack. Oxycontin is simply morphine in pill form. Yeah, it can be obtained through black market drug dealers, just like cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, pot and other illegal substances, but is only legally available through physicians licensed to prescribe controlled drugs, under strictly monitored situations. Morphine itself must be injected, and is only given in emergency situations for a short span of time, to hopefully avoid addiction(which sometimes happens anyway). Oxycontin is only given to terminally ill patients, like people dying of cancer, or those whose situations have no hope of improvement, and where addiction simply is no longer a concern. I find it hard to imagine Randall as a heroin junkie, out to score a fix in some back alleyway with the rest of the junkies. Morphine also makes a user sleepy and semi-concious, and it's VERY easy to OD, resulting in death. It would render a user totally mentally incapacitated and at the mercy of whoever or whatever came along. I am curious as to just how Randall would obtain this, along with Hemossist, which is an experimental drug that tirggers the bone marrow to make more red blood cells, and is only available at a few hospitals. Hemossist does NOT stop bleeding, and cannot replace large volumns of blood, and is mainly used in patients with persistent anemia from bone marrow suppression from chemotherapy for cancer or other long-term conditions. Since Randall is not a reptile, there would be no reason why drugs meant for humans would not work on him, although Excedrin, being a combination of Acetaminophren(Tylenol, the most useless over-the-counter medication in the world)and Asperin, combined with a HUGE dose of caffeine, would be a BAD idea-not as bad as heroin, but not good. Asperin thins the blood, and therefore increases bleeding, and caffeine of course raises blood pressure, so those two drugs on someone with a head injury and concussion could prove fatal. Blood vessels already weakened by the blow to the head could very well begin leaking, resulting in a stroke. For a serious head injury, there really is no over-the-counter medication which is safe and effective, pitbulllady

Well I THINK it was that...not saying it was.... But seeing as how Randall isn't jumping around and pinning anybody for it, It guess I was wrong....
"Well I kinda managed to pick up a few things now and then...I was a bit skeptical of trying human medicine...but I'd figure I'd rather die trying to help myself rather than just sitting down....in a way anyhow..."
I'm no medic so...I really didn't know what I was doing....
"Just be thankful I'm still alive..."
Maybe they were similar types of medicine...I can't remember.... Then again I can't remember something 3 years ago heh....

You can't "just pick up" ANY controlled substance. You either have to have a presciption from a physician who is specially licensed to prescribe the ones that are still legal, or buy them at outrageous prices from alley-way drug dealers(the sort you see in cop shows), or steal them...at gunpoint. Doctors and pharmacists who carry them have to keep them locked away in a safe, and are strictly accountable to the Federal Drug Administration and ATF for every pill or drop. They get audited on a weekly basis, and if one iota is not accounted for, will immediately lose their license! Having cared to two elderly and dying grandparents for years, as well as having my own share of broken bones, I do know about narcotic pain killers.

I don't think that Randall would be any better off in the Monster World at all. After all, at least HERE, he does have people who care about him, but over there, it's a whole different story. He will automatically be judged as "evil" even by monsters who don't know him from Adam's housecat, simply because of what he looks like. Humans, for the most part, would not know HOW to react at first to a talking, eight-limbed, upright-walking reptilian being; sure, there would be those stupid enough(like a certain redneck in a trailer)to think he was just some sort of mundane animal, but most would not have any preconceived notion because Randall would be so far from their concepts of our world. It's like they would be starting out with a "blank slate", as far as their concepts of Randall, and it would really be up to HIM to help them fill that slate. Even though many humans DO have a negative attitude towards reptiles, Randall is just so different from anything we know about ANY animals here, that those things could hardly apply. Back in the Monster World, though, everyone would know he is a monster, but of a race or type that's generally hated, ironically due to mind-sets brought over by their human ancestors.
