The thing I love about Randall is his good looks! ;D I second THAT motion, LOL! Seriously, though, considering what Randall HAD to have been through just over the past several months leading up to the events of the movie, while building the Scream Extractor, it's little wonder that his temper had grown a bit short. Having been in the professional work force myself for shall we say, a few decades, I can tell anyone that if someone of Randall's stature and importance(which was NOT very high, on a corporate scheme of things)had displayed such a temper all the time, he would have been out of that company faster than you can blink an eye. Workers who don't get along with others don't last, period. Work places are not like American public schools, where we are forced to tolerate belligerent and even dangerous students because the law says we have to. We do not, as Sean suggested, get to see Randall's true self in that movie, but we get to see an individual who has reached his limits of mental and emotional stress tolerance, and we see what happens when that last little straw is placed upon the proverbial overloaded camel's back. pitbulllady Hah hah hah!! What they said!! But I'm sure that Randall-sama already knew I thought that!

I like Randall because of everything everyone has said previously. And you know, I find that my hatred of Mike and Sulley and Waternoose makes me love Randall even more! ;D

Randall's not like any other Disney villain I've ever seen - I mean, all other villains come across to me as somewhat "two-dimensional" or "flat", simply because they are stereotyped so often. However, Randall has a very striking feature that sets him apart from the rest of the pack: his eyes.
Seriously, though - regardless of his seemingly harsh, short temper and jealousy, the look he has in his eyes always seems to contradict whatever he's doing. Obviously, he's able to differentiate between right and wrong, i.e. he knows that what he's doing isn't right, yet there's that yearning for a type of "parental approval" from Mr. Waternoose... I'm guessing that Randall has no definite family and that he's a foster kid (or something along those lines).
I'm pretty sure that deep down inside, he's a good guy. The movie just doesn't portray him as the character he really is; it's all external factors, or situations that were out of his control, that influenced him to act the way he did.
Oh yeah, and before I forget - he has great looks, a suave voice, and a well-built, perfectly-toned physique.

Okay ummmmm... Why do I like Randall? Uh.. Well, he just has that cool air around him. And he's as dangerous as heck itself, and I like dangerous characters. As long as they don't want to hurt me, of course. Besides, I usually root for the bad guys in every film/game I watch/play, such as the Toon Patrol, and Org. XIII. He's also as sharp as a needle when it comes to smarts. I respect him for that. And who doesn't like somebody with six arms? I want extras, too! EDIT: I know Randall usually uses the 3 rd pair as legs, but he can still use them as hands, and that works for me!

EDIT: I know Randall usually uses the 3rd pair as legs, but he can still use them as hands, and that works for me! I think we humans got short-changed in the limb department, honestly. I've had many times where I sincerely wished I had an extra pair of arms! Randall's also got that neat prehensile tail, which he an use as an arm/hand, to manipulate things as well as to hold onto things for support. And it makes a highly-effective weapon, as well! I don't see Randall as "bad", per se, though. Yeah, he did do some really bad things, though I can understand how he could have gotten to that point. That doesn't necessarily make HIM bad. What makes him dangerous is his combination of physical abilities and intelligence, moreso than "badness". I've never been a big fan of "villains" and do not normally root for the "bad guys", but Randall was very different from them. Most of the movie "bad guys" ARE just bad to the core, and we're never supposed to wonder WHY or feel sorry for them when they get their inevitable just desserts, but Randall is very different. We realize that a lot of the bad things he does is because he's more or less forced to do them, and he's caught up in something he has no control over. He's really in a lose-lose situation, and I think that deep down, he realized this, and so he let go of all the pent-up anger and frustration on Sulley and Mike when the situation presented itself. Randall also stands out from the rest of the movie or cartoon "bad guys" because he is actually intelligent, as you pointed out. Most movie bad guys and most cartoon villains, especially, are either dumb, bumbling, inept fools, or over-the-top "mad scientist" types. The ones that are real threats, and really dangerous, are usually complete psychopaths, incapable of rational thought processes. While I can't say that Randall was in complete control of his mental and emotional faculties by the end of that movie, he wasn't a nut-job, either. He just comes across as a very ordinary, realistic person who has his back up against a proverbial wall, and is lashing out, torn between doing something his darker side(and his boss)prompt him to do,and between doing what's right. That's why, even though he vents all that anger at Mike and Sulley, or rather, what they represent to him, he still spares Boo in the Door Vault, even though he'd been ordered to kill her, too. pitbulllady

There's a lot more bad guys who aren't just big stupid evil idiots. Like *cough* the Toon Patrol (Why do I keep bringing them up??). Actually, now that I think about it, there is some good in everybody. Some people (Monsters, Toons, whatever) just don't like to show their "softer side". To RandallBoggs: I know he's not actually a villain, but he was the "bad guy" in the movie. Notice the quotes around "bad guy".
