Sorry, I know it's close to Christmas and none of us (especially me *dies in pit orchestra*) have any time. Remember, it's not like it has to be done RIGHT NOW. Relax; it can wait until the christmas break, yes? -_-;

You know... I'm glad Ran didn't find this out, because I'm trying to hold back my temper.

Pitbulllady, I think it's great that you feel so much for Randall that you wrote that and everything, but the point that Beboots made is true. Secondly, since this whole THING was Sean's idea, doesn't anyone think that it would be respectful to at least let him have a say in this, especially since he said that he would like to at least contribute to it in some way?

To be honest, I think this whole thing should be a group effort, with everyone's ideas being pitched in instead of just one person.

Yes I know. Why do you think I asked everybody to give me what they thought so I could put it down....
Cause one thing I noticed in other entries is that you can enter in specific people (real names or pen names), that are considered "leaders" in the field, and recognizeable.
Anyway, yes, I did intend to include you guys from the beginning. Didn't I include that when I started this?

So how are we going to do this? Do we all start making random suggestions, or what? ^_^

We all just add in what we want and I'll post it.
We can also have a speculation part with our guesses (note that those like Randall was an Orphan IS based on facts...not to mention Randall being Top Scarer, those will be facts) for Ran as well....

Remember, though, Sean, that an encyclopedia is pure factual information - they don't even put theories in print versions.

*shrugs* So.... They have links to boards and stuff and we speculate a little...
Besides. Randall being Top Scarer IS a true fact.... As for him being an orphan well....well that's just something you can know.

I still don't think that we should put the orphan thing in, though- not everyone believes that, and although it's likely, it's not pure, certain fact.

It's based on facts Cool. Randall NEVER would have made the wrong decision if he had parents. WHY would he be SO worried if he had someone to talk to?

It's still an asumption, though, isn't it? It's akin to the people during the Middle Ages through the Renaissance assuming that the Earth was flat simply because it was the most obvious conclusion.

Exactly. If we don't put pure fact, anyone reading it won't believe ANY of it and will be put off.

We don't know that Randall was orphaned; we can only make an intelligent speculation that he HAD NO FAMILY to turn to. This might not necessarily mean that they were dead, although that seems more likely. He could have simply been estranged from them, so that they had no clue what he was doing, or where he was, and could have cared less. Alive, but dead to him, in a sense, as he would have already been to them. It's sad, but believe it or not, there are many people who live that way-completely cut off from their relatives due to some disagreement or another, and families who refuse to communicate with each other. I know people who actually live in the SAME HOUSE who have not even spoken to each other for years!
One thing we CAN be sure of is this: regardless of whether Randall's family was simply estranged from him(and vice versa)or actually deceased, they were not there for him. He had no one to turn to, no one to notice any change in his behavior or work patterns, and no one to notice when he went missing, otherwise they would have either intervened BEFORE things ever got to the point that they reached, or at least would have launched an aggressive inquiry as to his wherabouts. Given Sulley's inability to lie, if confronted by some investigator wanting to know where Randall Boggs was, Sulley's guilt would have manifested itself, big time! He never would have made it to the position of CEO with that sort of inquiry hanging over his head.
